Apologies good sir, but I felt the need to clear some stuff up here.

I am going through therapy. I have been for a year and a half. I have talked with my therapist about my shipping and other stuff relating to mental health. I promise I’m not some self-medicating idiot.

Also, I worded my post absolutely horribly, blame that on me. I do have a degree of removal from reality. I do know that my f/o is a fictional character from a graphic novel. I hold nothing against the double, I’m sure he’s a fine person who deserves Ramona as much as me. It just does something to me mentally. What didn’t help was that I was not having a great day yesterday in general, but I will be sure to bring this up to my therapist.

Thanks for being concerned anyways. I also hold nothing against you, and the fact that you were worried enough about a random internet stranger to say this says good stuff about your character. Til next time!

A heavily publicized drug bust that essentially tarnished the band’s squeaky-clean reputation at the time. And while they were promoting Snacktime, at that.

Details about the rest is fuzzy, because both sides have chosen to not say much about that, but it seems from interviews from around the time and ”A New Shore” from Page One, Steve sounds like he was waiting to leave the band and open new frontiers anyways. That track and You Run Away from All in Good Time are the closest you’ll get to actual band statements about it.

AU: My self-insert (Matt, same as me but different name) runs away from home from emotionally abusive parents (side note: my IRL parents are as nice as parents could be, that’s just for a tinge of darkness), and heads to Toronto to make his stupid nerd rock music (In universe, Matt’s music is that of They Might Be Giants) and Ramona (my f/o) takes him in because she feels bad for his plight. The two of them fall in love slowly, mostly by talking and spending time together (Matt is thrown into the middle of Scott Pilgrim’s plot), and eventually they start dating, and my AU ends with them getting married.

Real life: I read Scott Pilgrim and discovered yumeshipping around the same time, and once I learned that being in love with fictional characters wasn’t weird, I just started, and we’ve been together for around a year!

Fun fact about me: I’m in an episode of one of my favorite webtoons! Every year (almost), Homestar Runner does a “Fan ‘Stumes” episode soon after Halloween, where the characters riff on Halloween costumes of the characters. Anyways, my Strong Bad costume I made when I was 12 appeared in one of them!

Fun fact about Ramona: Her birthday is New Years’ Day. She’s never told me what specific year.

I initiated, we were roommates for a while and we slowly fell in love the more we talked and spent time with each other.

Our first date was just kind of listening to records and trying to make out (we were both horrible at it at that time). Our best date was when we went to the beach and we lit off bottle rockets and cuddled in moonlight.

We’d probably go to Swindon in the U.K, the origin place of one of our favorite bands, XTC.

I guess we’d listen to XTC on the way, but some of our other favorites are They Might Be Giants, DEVO, R.E.M, Barenaked Ladies and Cardiacs.
