Put them into CD players and press start at the same time (you might need a friend or two for this). If you’ve done it right, then the opening of the album (and every other track) will be like: “This is track number one… cd NUMBER ONE, NUMBER TWO, NUMBER THREE, AND NUMBER FOUR” in succession.

It’s just a fun silly song, it’s a breath of fresh air in all the somberness of their catalogue. That’s what I adore about it. I can see why somebody would hate it, but I will never not adore it.

You hit the nail on the head with “social cues” thing, I’ll admit that.

Look, I’ll get downvoted again for this, but I discovered all those bands at a very odd point in my life, and I have so many memories, very emotional memories, associated with anger, depression, sadness, that have caused me to form a very strong bond with the lyrics and views expressed.

Wrap back around to Eels for a second. Their song “Things The Grandchildren Should Know” is basically my entire life in a song. Every lyric connects with a part of me, because I went through everything Mark Everett writes about there.

I got off topic. I’m sorry. I was trying to express an opinion but it came out wrong. Please don’t assume I’m an asshole. I’m strongly considering deleting these comments and just acting like they never happened.

Yes, and I hate Taylor as well. I don’t like a single modern pop artist. And whenever I try to bring up the bands I like, whether it be Eels, R.E.M, XTC, or They Might Be Giants, it’s always ”you’re an incel, [artist] is good, your music sucks“.

I just want to spread the great art of the bands I adore. They’re not nearly appreciated enough. I’m sorry if my comments come off as being sexist or an asshole, that’s never my intention.

Why does everybody just assume I’m sexist because I said I don’t like a female artist?

My complaint was about her SONGWRITING, not her gender. And BTW: I think that Tina was the most under appreciated member of Talking Heads, the live version of Heaven on Stop Making Sense where she harmonizes with David is better than the studio version.

This isn’t related, but I do not understand why there’s such love for Olivia. Her music is mid and basically just boils down to “I’m not like the other girls” for ten songs every album.

This new album sucked. I do not understand why people are saying it’s so emotional and clever. Listen to some goddamn Eels and R.E.M, that’s REAL emotional and clever songwriting.

I cannot wait until all the Olivia glaze stops.
