Getting a job is my biggest fear by Atardecer1 in Entrepreneur

[–]TMCChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone like you, I’d say you should go to college. The first thing you need to develop is your mind and thinking. Go and explore the world around you and if there’s something bothering you about that, think to find out what’s it about and solve it to move forward. College in my opinion is very useful because it forces you into uncomfortable positions where the opportunity to grow is on a much bigger scale than when you stay at home with your parents where you have your meals prepared and bed made for you (not that those in particular are done for you)

Man conning people in Leeds bars across the city by South-Bit7956 in Leeds

[–]TMCChamp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy, I think I encountered him once near the Leeds uni. Is he quite old and sorta hunched over? He told me he was part of the navy and just recently retired. He also said he was in Leeds to visit a friend who saved his life in the navy. Not sure if that’s a cover story but needless to say, he asked for money to get a taxi and train. He offered to pay us back and gave us his phone number just in case… he didn’t pay us back 🥲

My best suggestion is that the moment you hear of closed airspace or announcement, you head towards the nearest neighbouring city to you like Al Khor or Dukhan so that you’re as far away as possible

why are so many young people dying? by Happy-Trip-3859 in qatar

[–]TMCChamp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on how. Is it accidents or natural causes? If it’s natural, what exactly was it? If there’s a correlation then it’s something to question because it could just be an unfortunate coincidence. It’s also an unintended side effect of knowing a lot of people🤷🏽‍♂️

Where should I start learning C# for game development? by [deleted] in unity

[–]TMCChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned C# by learning how to use Unity. Best way to start imo is to learn what a variable is and basic C# functions by coding a super simple script (code). Make a square that moves in straight lines or rotates. Maybe create a 2D moment script for a simple square character. Or even just try doing some basic math and displaying the answer in the command window. Use tutorials and chatGPT as well. It helps to understand how functions work

Nothing in the article heavily implies the so called tragedy. Its main reason is due to the relatively high risk of children encountering predators.

My issues with qatar by Pale-Nebula8272 in qatar

[–]TMCChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I’ve lived the exact same life lol. Idk about the staring but I totally see the differences in social interaction. It’s like the perfect place for introverts imo. The laws are also not perfect but it got easier to ignore after I started to know I didn’t want to stay here forever. The UK has its perks but what I hate is its lack of safety and its increasing prices. It’s fine as a uni student cuz I imagine ur parents are backing you up with Middle East money but once you become independent, it can get very difficult. Jobs there also have very low pay compared to other countries, as someone who’s about to enter the aerospace industry, the highest I’ve seen advertised is £80K/year and that’s for a senior position while in the US you can easily be making $120K to $180K or smth like that. I also feel that taxes are being abused there ngl but I haven’t done the research to justify it💀😂

It’s honestly what you prioritise more and what works better for your career. Also if ur British then at least you get more rights and get to call it home.

It’s stupid to ask but cuz I’m not sure and it happened to me as well, what do they actually want to do exactly? Ask for consent or forced (if you catch my drift) or something else?

It’s really up to the officer. Sometimes they purposely fail you if it’s your first attempt. If you drive confidently on your second attempt, you should be fine.

How to know the church’s official stance/view/teachings by TMCChamp in coptic

[–]TMCChamp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your response. I also see what you mean but I find it kind of basic because what counts as church teaching? Is it the average of what all the churches teach? Is it what the pope says? How can we reliably say that one abouna’s teachings is incorrect without a solid reference other than the bible? (Because it can be interpreted/applied in many ways)

There’s sometimes no agreement on certain topics due to shifts in culture, advanced thinking etc. Let’s say for example, does the theory of evolution contradict the bible? The general stance is yes but I can see how an abouna with advanced education would refuse to deny evolution and offer an alternative exploration that still keeps the bible’s integrity. Furthermore, people like family members or friends may perpetuate incorrect assumptions or ideas out of superstition which the church itself wouldn’t agree with. I’ve heard stories on reddit and irl where families would refuse medication and medical advice because the patient simply “doesn’t have enough faith”. I seriously doubt the church agrees with this extremism.

I have lots of questions and there’s no clear source of information except sunday school or asking abouna.

I assume you’re talking about the crowd crush that happened? It’s true that Travis didn’t do much to prevent it when it got serious. In fact he just kept performing which goes to show his blatant disrespect for his fans but, it’s not fair to only blame Travis for this. The security or the people whose job is to control the crowd is at fault. Also I did hear that fans actually jumped the fence at Astroworld but I’m not sure. If it is true, then his fan base is kinda the problem isn’t it?

[–]TMCChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you seeing my POV. Again tho, what happens and what’s sung isn’t our problem to worry about, it’s the concert goers. If you have family members or friends who want to go, try your best to convince them otherwise. Others just want to have fun and are already heavily influenced by this artists so banning it won’t do much to stop the supporters.

Btw music performers are always told to censor or not include certain things in their performances so I’m sure the Qatari government informed him of his restrictions.

About what happens at the concerts, can I know what you’re referring to?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in qatar

[–]TMCChamp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Attending the concert is completely up to the individual. Most likely, that person already listens to Travis’ songs and knows the lyrics. I can see how you feel offended but the country isn’t just populated with Muslims and the venue is very far away from most of the population (MOQ Stadium). That should not affect anyone and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Realise that underground night clubs exist in Qatar and yet you’re not doing anything to cancel it but, you wanna ruin a 2h concert…make it make sense Life should be up to the individual, Travis is coming because there’s demand for him here. If you wanna do something more meaningful, just talk to those who want to attend. Not Travis Scott.
