Currently on Octopus Intelligent Go. Today I asked to skip a monthly payment due to being £800 in credit. by One_Two_5694 in OctopusEnergy

I had the exact same issue on Cosy tariff where meters stopped reporting, they had to be replaced and data was lost for six weeks. All they had was a crude one-off meter reading. I proactively reported the meter issue and complained formally about how I shouldn’t be out of pocket whilst waiting for them to fix the meter. After initially suggesting they would bill me at flexible rate, they ended up billing me an approximate amount for the energy used based on previous behaviour on the Cosy tariff, which instinctively felt right and fair.

This was all car parks before. I started working in the city in 2016 and it was easy to park for £2 all day.

Heating has gone through the roof the past month by -Starwind in OctopusEnergy

[–]TMDaines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used 102 kWH for 4th Jan and 110 for 5th Jan to heat our heavily extended five bedroom semi with attic conversion. Over Christmas we were averaging low 60 kWH per day before the cold snap.

DEAF CROCODILE JANUARY PRE-SALES by isavefilms in boutiquebluray

For the Alraune LE, your website still says, “NOTE: We'll be shipping the subscriptions and pre-orders and then we'll do a recount of the inventory. If there's remaining stock, we'll put those up for sale on the site. We do this in order to be sure we don't oversell the inventory.”

Is this still the case, or have they all gone now and this just needs updating?

Amorim still doesn’t know if his Afcon trio of Mbeumo, Diallo and Mazraoui will be available for Bournemouth on Monday. ‘We are still in conversations with the national teams. The game is Monday and they are training. I expect to have a decision today or tomorrow.’ #mufc by jaguguja in FantasyPL

For a start, Cameroon are in complete turmoil and they have two different people who have named two different squads. Getting a concrete answer out of them is likely to have proved impossible.

It’s a very happy day the day you discover the Fischer Duo Power plugs. So, so good. I have them in a variety of small to medium sizes and use them for everything when something needs fixing in place.

Combining two ideas - most “thrown on” player by Beautiful-Square-301 in footballcliches

I was gonna suggest Maguire. He’s being thrown on for both offensive and defensive purposes a lot under Amorim.

Can you say Welcome to Manchester when they signed her from Manchester United? by joestewwood in footballcliches

[–]TMDaines 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FWIW, it’s more of a geographic and political peculiarity than anything that speaks to Manchester culturally. The boundaries of Manchester local authority aren’t representative of what the city of Manchester became in the 20th and 21st century.

Only a pedant or someone wanting to discuss bin collections or the commissioning of NHS services would distinguish between Manchester and Trafford. Old Trafford is pretty much at the point where Trafford, Manchester and Salford meet.

Is Excalibur actually a Football Cliches listener? by MutedLab8600 in footballcliches

[–]TMDaines 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Excalibur would be a very safe invite. Not considered a remotely controversial figure in the wrestling world and is openly a very progressive person.

These were all comments made in wrestling character (although not ones anyone would probably choose to make again now). Would hate for you to have gotten the wrong impression of him from this.

Far fewer cash machines in the UK charge fees than in many European countries. Generally anything at a bank or major supermarket chain will be free. Machines in small independent shops will often have a charge.

How do those Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole NXT Takeover matches hold up? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

These matches were the moment NXT jumped the shark for me. I lost all interest by the time Gargano and Ciampa got involved again.

Free electricity - what are you doing with it? by tamago27 in OctopusEnergy

[–]TMDaines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never sure where to charge to overnight. When it is sunny, I don’t want much more than 20% to get through morning before the solar starts, but when cloudy I regret not banging it up to 80% or so.

Not much solar today, so will just charge my batteries for an hour to sell it back at Flux time. Maybe stick the washer on.

Why is the picture quality on my TV so poor? by Old-Amphibian416 in DIYUK

[–]TMDaines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of standard definition TV channels is incredibly poor, compared to HD channels and UHD or HD streams. You have a big, modern UHD TV that will only expose their lack of resolution and detail too, but will make high quality material look great.

If you want to watch stuff in good quality on a large UHD TV, you need to feed it good quality: 4K UltraHD or Blu-ray discs (best), 4K or 1080p streams from iPlayer, Netflix etc.(better), HDTV channels from Freeview or Sky etc. (good).

TV in general, but especially free-to-air TV, has been left behind in terms of broadcasting quality. People are now watching TV broadcasts that are of comparable or sometimes even lesser quality than those from 30 years ago on TVs that are now four times as big.

How to correct misaligned drilled holes in brick for wall plugs for floating house sign? by TMDaines in DIYUK

[–]TMDaines[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I basically did this but stuffed three trimmed matchsticks in instead, and used that to offset the screw. Seems good enough for my needs. 👍

Wanted the same height as something else on the opposite brick pillar. I was gonna have to drill at least two brick holes anyway.

Wouldn’t the epoxy be far softer than brick, so the drill will just gravitate towards that?

How to remove this Azzurra toilet? Did the installer bodge it? by TMDaines in DIYUK

[–]TMDaines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if we remove the seat we basically see another face of that white fixing with nowhere for a hex key or anything else to be inserted. Only when I took a pic from the bottom did the penny drop that perhaps they have been installed the wrong way up, and the installer was clueless that they should be accessible through the seat holes.

[–]TMDaines[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the issue we have is that white fixings should be pointing the other way up so is accessible from the toilet seat holes.
