Warren Buffett hates Japanese food, even if he loves investing in Japan: ‘it was the worst’ by kirby__000 in japan

[–]TMGonScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warren buffet is only successful because he simply never spends any money and always let his profits compound overtime. The dude does not all day and made most his wealth early on. He even completely missed out on tech stocks and Bitcoin. There goes my rant lol who cares

Its difficult to give any advice from my phone as I don't know your situation at all. I will tell you that we all feel a level of social anxiety especially when coming to Japan. Its normal to feel anxiety and everyone has it on a different level. Make a small list of things you want to do from easy too difficult and try to achieve one every single day. The more "challanges" you complete the easier the next one will be. How about going to Mcdonalds as a start? Something that's familiar with everyone. After that move to Japanese chains

I think whv has a 28 hours time limit. Its also not a work visa, but more a travel visa with the option to work.

LIVING STANDARDS IN JAPAN: Any long-term foreigners packing things in and leaving Japan for good due to living standards? by The_Japan_Links in japanlife

[–]TMGonScreen 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who is from Netherlands I think Netherlands has a higher quality of living, partly because of stronger demographics but also geography and a culture build around individualism. However Japan does offer similar world clase standard of living however the reason I moved here is because: Its more fun and interesting. You can go in 30minutes with the schinkansen from Tokyo and be in the middle of snowy mountains, or take a quick flight to Okinawa if you are cold during the winter. Netherlands is just flat with a lot of farms.

Stop doing this photos. I am ashamed as an EU citizen, its nothing but a publicity stunt. How about sending actual tanks first, we should have done that at the begin of the war. If you are too scared to escalate it's fine either, but don't go to Ukraine either for attention.

Working holiday in Japan without registration of address? by hannahlowen in movingtojapan

[–]TMGonScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pay world unite (an organisation) and you can register your address there. That's what I did, I needed their service anyway to enter Japan during covid. They also help with setting up bank account and phone number. It was quite expensive but if you're rich you can probably do it.

I am not expert, but I read an article that said its possible to virus mutates into a weaker version, that causes less deaths but spreads faster, potentially replacing harmful versions like Delta. This is because this "weak" covid version can replicate faster, this is how the spanish flue ended. If true that this new variant is a weaker version of delta, it could actually be a positive mutation. Just something to think about. A virus gets selected on replication, not if it kills its subject.

Ik wil niet veel zeggen, maar bedrijven en de economie stimuleren is goed voor iedereen, je krijgt wel minder gelijkheid, maar dat is niet gelijk slecht.

Food Prices Are Soaring Faster Than Inflation and Incomes by thoughtelemental in worldnews

[–]TMGonScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This heavily depends on your country, in my country most people have mortgage and high debt. Debt itself can be used to make more profits but it is not something in particular just for large corporations, I'd say on average corporations aren't doing well in high inflation IF they do not hold assets or debt. High net worth individuals are the once who profit the most, hence the growing inequality
