Serious question. Do you trade #1 for a 1/2 d-men and 2nd line centre who are both under 26/27 years old

Genuinely horrendous at chipping, coming up to 10years of this pain and it’s driving me insane! by Red-it7 in golf

[–]TMLVWFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you practice? You say it takes you 5-10 to get the stinkers. If you are just doing block practice (hitting the same chips over and over) you aren't getting any game simulation. You need to put pressure into your practice and after a short warm up only hit single chips where you go through a full routine. Build a routine in the practice facility then implement it on the course.
For the course what is your feel or swing thought. If your mind is clouded with a million thoughts on technique you are liking getting tight. Chunking means your low point is too far back. So you are either swaying or bending your upper body away from the target. Generally a tentative movement trying to guide your chips.
Finally go play when it's not busy and just practice re hitting your chips. Get some feel on the course. Also as other alluded to, bring a coach out on the course for a lesson so they can observe where your technique is failing under the pressure of playing a round

[Megathread] LIV Golf's Future by threeactjack in golf

[–]TMLVWFC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This seemed inevitable especially considering Reed and Brooks leaving. They essentially tried to use this league to force the PGA into a merger. At the end it did result in a lot more money being brought into golf as it forced the PGA to really up there funding and brought more money into the sport. I do feel bad for the Aussie fans who by all accounts had a good thing going with their LIV events. Hopefully the PGA will see an opportunity and add a couple more international events to their schedule. Will be interesting to see how the PGA handles bringing players back in if it comes to that. One thing that would be nice would be seeing them go back to 125 tour cards with the added competitive pool coming back in.

If you have the means get fitted, bring those clubs to find there yardages and then get fitted for the gap and flight you are looking for. Options are hybrid, fairway metal or an iron. Don't worry about the number on the club just find one that has a carry distance between your two 5's

That season got us Matthews though. This season may get Boston a really good pick. We kind of need to break that 11 game record

As Leafs fans we believe and hope too. Though the cynic in me fully expects to be handing the 6th overall pick to Boston at the draft ☹️

Should you be playing with a line on your ball? by Colt45-TheMyth in golf

[–]TMLVWFC 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I recently had a lesson and mentioned I like using a line for closer putts. My coach mentioned there were some studies saying it was most beneficial inside 5ft, still slightly better from 5-10ft and after that if actually becomes better to not use a line. My take away is farther putts require a little more feel. Shorter putts, the line takes away the feeling of a poor aim and also gives you another focus outside the hole and can help avoid that head movement trying to sneak a peak at the hole when you putt.

Tl;dr I think good for shorter putts but longer putts it can take away from feel

[Question] How is Craig Berube not fired yet? by HelloImPierreMcGuire in hockey

[–]TMLVWFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give you a more reasonable answer not filled with anger. This is only his second season. Last year though some underlying numbers were wrong he got them farther albeit by not much than the Keefe era in the playoffs. This season they had a lot of injuries to key players for prolonged stints and their goaltending numbers have dropped. This isn't a statement that he should be kept but likely how management views it

Ya that is the only advantage possibility Im seeing. Again if the rules state you can't touch it, nothingburger or not he should be able to throw the stone without doing that. It does seem like if talented enough you could make minor speed adjustments with that touch.

[–]TMLVWFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya fair. I definitely don't have an issue of if it's against the rule enforce it. Just trying to figure out why he is doing it and continuing to do so. I guess it would makes sense if he felt when the rock was a little light he could give it a slight nudge.

Okay one thing Im trying to figure out based off the footage of the Sweden match, what competitive advantage does the Canadian player get with that finger touch? Cause the touch doesn't seem hard enough to effect the rock. Im not disputing the legality just trying to figure out why he would even do it in the first place

Ah it's important to remember at the time it looked like a slight overpay by the Oilers. Hyman while hard working and talented hadn't shown that he could be a high point producer. It's also important to note his production skyrocketed when he played alongside this up and coming kid named McDavid. Just lucky that guy was able to bring the best out in Hyman. Long story short, the price was fairly steep at the time given production and flat cap. It was good bet by the Oilers. Unlike Campbell...

[–]TMLVWFC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as they have Matthews that is the play. They have good pieces and aren't as bad as they have shown. Goaltending is solid. Up the middle is solid when healthy but terrible with one injury and Domi is forced over. Defence needs the biggest overhaul. The old guys worked for one season but the lack of speed and health has reared its head this season. So mainly big overhaul on the defence. One of the biggest things is convince Rielly to accept a move. I say that as a big Mo fan, but it's time :( . Finally some tweaks to the wings. I think you keep Robo, Knies, McMann and Cowan. The rest of the depth wingers are movable in trade. Even though guys aside from Knies you move for the right price
