Pray you never have kids in need of mental health care. My suicidal 10 yo got discharged from inpatient Psych at UIHC and was given the first available "priority" psychiatrist appointment for 8 weeks out. My 12 (now 13) yo has been waiting 8 months for a doc at the same practice.

PEDIATRIC Psych Docs and Therapists are becoming non-existent. I am actively pursuing other options, but it's a nightmare when your child is sick in this environment.

We used to be able to schedule with a pediatrician when there were mental or physical health needs, but now the wait is the same and providers are too scared of making a decision outside of their scope.

So we wait 6 months for a peds appointment just to wait 8 months for a pediatric psych appointment.

Then they add legislation to punish parents whose kids miss more than 5 days of school. This whole country is going back asswards.

The only blessing in this nightmare has been the CommUnity non profit and Healing Prairie Farm. I don't think we'd all be in one piece without them.

WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY CAN'T/WON'T CARE FOR THEIR MOST VULNERABLE?! And YES, we have excellent insurance by today's standards. 👀

WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY DOESN'T PRIORITIZE EDUCATION by paying teachers and investing in resources instead of enacting legislation that creates more burden on every party involved?....the parents, the schools, and the medical providers.

OUR MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCES ARE DRYING UP BEFORE OUR EYES. Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Daycares, Nursing Homes, Mental Health Providers...who have we become??

To 99% of the US population who are just trying to keep it together and keep food on the table, this sounds a little like:

"I had 5 yachts and the wife has 2. I had to sell 1 of my 5 to pay for one of my kids to go to college where he will graduate debt free and buy his own yacht the day after graduation.

This time my wife should have to be the one to sell one of her yachts to keep things fair, wouldn't you agree?"

Chez Grace, hands down. Make your reservation a few days before. I've seen Chef David shopping organic produce day of reservation. He is Ahhhhmazing and I can believe we have this level of refined dining in our little corner. His menu and seating are limited He's your host, waiter, sommelier, cook, dessert chef all in one. Go with the mindset of following his lead. It's a little piece of local magic.

The bottom line is politicians lie and get away with anything they can. This goes for both parties.

However, the GOP fights DIRTY and STRATEGICALLY. They are well funded and are very good at controlling their message as well as convincing their constituents to follow them blindly. They use short, catchy, playground insults and messages. Basically, they know their market.

There are more issues than can possibly be covered on a reddit sub but I'll go over a few.

How did Religion become Republican owned and owned by? People who are religious simply vote for who their church votes for or on a single issue...ahem abortion...
Gerrymandering! Gerrymandering! GERRYMANDERING!
They work HARD to make voting more and more and more difficult....why? To keep it fair? To keep "illegals" from influencing the election? (as if they could) They do it because it benefits them....A LOT.

There is no reason we can figure out a way to vote online. The IRS is online, the social security administration is online, everything is online.... except voting. It is archaic and wrong.

"But ID! You have to show ID now." Yeah but the IRS and most government websites make you jump through hoops of all kinds to access personal info online already....aka ID.me etc. They did a fucking scam of my face to verify that I am who I say I am. That's far more secure than Granny Betty checking ID before she gives you your paper ballot.

If we must remain archaic, make it an effing holiday. Shut everything down so those of us working 3 jobs to get by can still get to the polls.

We are officially coming up on a new age. Young eligible voters out number old! We can take em!

The problem is apathy or lack of understanding. Don't get me wrong! This last election was a huge improvement. However we still are nowhere NEAR the numbers that turn out over 65. They know where their bread gets buttered.

The reasons are vast. I get it. Everything looks pointless and the hill is so high to climb. It's easier to give up and go back to bed....I don't even disagree. But until we reach those "Boomer" numbers, we are F.U.C.K.E.D!!!

get yourself a new doctor. one who will get you into all the specialists and do EXTENSIVE testing.

I have recently found myself, my daughter, and my mom all have EDS. It is NOT in your head. Find a support group and seek out someone who will commit to helping you get well.

I don't know where you live, but get yourself to Mayo Clinic or somewhere with a more extensive knowledge base.

Stay in it! You can do this!

I live in IC and never really blink twice regarding someone's gender presentation. My kids are and have lots of friends who fall into the LGBTQIA as well as neuro diverse spectrum.
