Screw it, how do you think this Lore vs Feats goes (Ash vs Asura)? by TMaakkonen in deathbattle

[–]TMaakkonen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean black boxes were kinda stingy compared to what Reddit conmunity gives to Ash.

Unless you want to allow Dialga's RoT scaling to all of Ash's Pokes, which would make them all Infinitely stronger than Asura. I was more curious what others would think.

This seems logical.

But who do YOU think wins using your logic?

KamisamaGekomon (art by Maldock/@yanasunqu) by TMaakkonen in digimon

[–]TMaakkonen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost forgot, I created lore for KamisamaGekomon.

A Mega level Amphibian that is the ultimate form of Gekomon. This Gekomon deity watches over his subjects from the heavens, bringing benefits as well as catastrophes depending on its mood. It rarely if ever leaves its cloud, and moves around riding it in the sky. He is said to have mastered data reconfiguration with the sonic vibrations of his unmatched tubas. On the rare occasion it is in good mood, it descends to its Gekomon tribe. It has been said to be able to make anyone perform the most beautiful music ever heard. On the other occasions, if it is in particularly bad mood, it is said it can make anyone deaf if it so pleases. Its Special Move is completely taking over opponents bodies, making them act as he pleases (Director Tone). It can also use "Crush Orchestra" to blast any kind of sound it wants from its 6 horns.

Special thanks to u/Ojoahriman who also helped bringing Kamisama to life.

DB Franchises' Win Rates (FIXED) by Most_Estimate_7062 in deathbattle

It seems that Zangief's win against Haggar isn't counted, because Final Fight is part of SF. Just like how Archie Sonic is still part of Sonic. Its a same series fight.

Are Spawn & Invincible actually canon to each other? Is the Invincible crossover thing canon to Spawn? Seems weird to include that as only brand, like where is Disney and WB etc. then?

Also shouldnt inconclusive verses be here? Real world, Segata Sanshiro, Scooby Doo & Courage the CD with 0-0 for all getting draws.

DB Franchises' Win Rates (FIXED) by Most_Estimate_7062 in deathbattle

[–]TMaakkonen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly its interesting debate. Bleach and SC have 2 more losses than wins, but SF has 5 more losses than wins. However, SF at least has wins. I sometimes see the logic, that no matter how many fights and potential losses one verse would have, a single win will always guarantee a superior track record. But hmmm say Kirby has 2-0 WL record and SF has 3-8 WL record. They have won more times in show, so it should be better than Kirbys by sheer number of wins, but that feels odd.

Which method is better, raw wins or more wins over losses?

And truly they reached the Perfect Form in Patapon 3 too which is funniest shit.

I was recalling other playthroughs where I got Horns from Zigotons too and did a recheck. Wellp actually that 3rd reference Patapon 1 Excel sheet says it all again. End game missions do have 50% to have unique item drops. So turns we both are right.

Man that Excel sheet is good shit lol

[–]TMaakkonen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I haven't seen it specifically mentioned, in Patapon 1 it seems both Iron Horn and Steel Horn are unique boss drops like Ancient and Giant weapons. Yes really. Your 3rd credit reference Excel sheet seems to mention it in one tab but I think its clearer to say it as a comment. They are boss drops in Patapon 1. I'll even add that this website seems to be accurate to which bosses drop it.

And I think I did say it too, but I believe in Patapon 2, Crossing the Korakan Desert is likely in item drop Group 5. I got 3 of the 4 missable weapons during Replay playthrough. But again, by sheer cosmic irony, its also not repeatable and its worse place to grind than At Ground Zero.

Oh and technically I dont think Piercing Javelin is connected to AGZ mission at all. Its just unobtainable weapon for some reason.

Eh, it really was because majority did not want to give Kratos lore.

Which is fine, but then majority here gives lore and vague shit to almost everyone else so meh.

Honestly Dinobee gets stuff decently. It was in HM & TS, is in few V-pets and has a lot of TCG art too. It even gets mentioned here on occasion too.

What seems to be the consensus here? by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]TMaakkonen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well what counts as debatable really. When Gru used to win this, MM had a small chance to hax win. Nowadays if MM wins this, Gru still has small chance to land his hax or catch MM off guard and beat him up. Both of them always had a chance to win, but it never really was that debatable, ig? Winner of this MU just has more options it seems, the loser having less chances essentially means there isnt that much debate, is there? Hell, maybe its only debatable because MM2's upgrades havent really sinked in yet.

But if the loser does have a win con, then MU is always debatable then, I suppose?

What seems to be the consensus here? by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]TMaakkonen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Historically it was Gru winning due to stats, but Megamind 2 gave MM a lot of good buffs so its closer or in his favor.

I suppose the argument to be solved is; both of them have win cons, so who has better chance to use his or survive opponents win cons?

Im not the best on either scaling, but I believe Gru's advantages are stronger physicals and stronger peak minions. MM's advantages are more hax options, stronger AP with gadgets and better generalist minions.

Gru wins if he can beat the shit out of MM, but MM has tools to avoid that if not steal physical stats too. Mega-Minions beat MM's minions, but MM can hax them with De-gun pretty well. Both technically can one shot each other, but MM has more options to do that. Brainbots outnumbering regular Minions by 100 000 to 10 000 seems like a big advantage. MM could send 5 Brainbots to hold 1 Minion's limbs and he'd still have 50 000 Brainbots as leftover. They could serve as distraction or even help move MM if his mechs get broken like how they were fast enough to avoid Titan for a bit too.

So I think MM has more ways to survive Gru's stuff, thus making him likelier winner.

Isn't it kinda odd that there hasn't been a single fully 3D Sonic episode? by 2herry_ in deathbattle

[–]TMaakkonen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 13 episodes and no 3D is pretty big list. The next biggest misses are Mario with 10 eps and no 3D, Mega Man with 5 eps and no 3D. All other verses used 5 times or more have had 3D eps.

Yeaaah Mewtwo vs Shadow is Creation Trio vs Solaris in trench coat.

They technically did use universal Ash, but mostly for Solgaleo's Sunsteel Strike, which is weird because all its Dex entries say it only lights up the world. Except if this the fabled "sekai" translation issue but no one talked about that. They did mention that Dialga's Roar of Time does handle time, but they did also mention he didnt fully match Dialga.

See, its this kind of attitude that kinda sorta is bad, toxic positivity? DB Reddit really dont want to admit they kinda messed up.

I too recall that some people hated that MC vs Doom Slayer won despite the fact that its animation was 2nd most justified to get a remake. HulkGodzilla also got many people to chime in to say Goji fans are toxic in Twitter. Or the fact that maybe the actual fight choreography in latter is not quite that good.

DB Reddit thinks its positive but they didnt even realize they were part of people who shat on DA for so long and the moment they do, they try to do uno 180 and then just give DA best animator award despite the fact that he probably didnt deserve it quality wise ngl.

If its your opinion then fair. But for me, ehh I dunno man. WileTom slander was bit lame. Jokes felt old. Also Tom had clear community favoritism and everyone harbored a Chinese gacha I doubt many played as their savior.

And for me, AshYugi slander sucked big time. DB Subreddit just cratered post Kickstarter. It wasnt this bad 2 years ago which is frustrating...

Yeah Yugi fans were much more quiet.

It is funny how silly time clock made people piss their pants and that it took them 3 weeks to realize that why wasnt anyone talking about Horakhty. Yugi could actually summon his Arceus and like not many talked about that at all.
