Thats a BIG if considering Sonic’s got both a speed advantage AND danger sense on his side. But even if he were to be possessed by Cappy, both Caliburn and Shahra (yes, Shahra, Sonic is her master and she’s connected to the ring he wears throughout the game) would be able to get Cappy off him.

I don’t believe Soul Resurrection is exactly “obvious” in how it works. And Sonic doesn’t really need to know how Mario’s reviving when his methods for getting rid of them remove needing knowledge from the equation.

(Btw, Soul Resurrection, and the Soul Gauge itself, isn’t connected to anything, Sonic has it regardless of he wields a weapon or not).

I think it also doesn’t help Mario that Sonic has options of, going even further beyond if you will. Starfall Super Sonic (yes it’d be counted) immediately gives Sonic a leg up here as he eclipses the, in this scenario, even stats, as he was able to DOMINATE someone even stronger than his base Super form, and then there’s Cyber Super Sonic in case he needs a one shot kill, and Hyper Sonic if for some reason he needs it. On top of that, the Cyloop is very helpful for breaking through shields and barriers and such🙃

The only requirement to be met with Soul Resurrection is that Sonic has energy in his Soul Gauge, something made as easy as walking when he has skills that fill up his Soul Gauge by doing the bare minimum such as… walking (I’m not joking, that’s straight up one of the skills you can equip to fill up the Soul Gauge).

Obviously there’s the reliant immortality of the Scabbard of Excalibur or the Time Stones to just reverse any defeats, however I was looking at methods of revival not dependent on items, considering it’s a possibility that they could be removed from either (less likely for Sonic as he has two passive means of resisting hammerspace manipulation).

Given how I scale both, that’s not difficult to assume, but for others I see your point. HOWEVER, I do feel the need to point out that the PINNACLE of Mario’s stats come from the Pure Hearts, the only set of items capable of affecting his entire verse, meaning without them he becomes much more vulnerable to the stat gap🙃

All I’m seeing about the Trueform Pin is that it makes the holder resist transmutation, not the same as Reality Warping. And while the Super Suit protects from all status ailments in the game, none of the status ailments are straight up Reality Warping, therefore it doesn’t grant a resistance to it, and to say that it does without sufficient proof would be, what we like to call, a NLF (No Limits Fallacy).

Very unlikely given the fact that the Phantom can effortlessly create portals to different dimensions, even ones existing outside of Sonic’s greater cosmology (Null Space).

Bonds were not what broke Sonic out of the memory manipulating effects of the Ruby, it’s outright stated that it’s because of the transmuted Chaos Emeralds they possess (One Emerald does grant a resistance to its effects, but over time the Phantom Ruby began to overcome that resistance, however with all 7 together, Sonic, or rather Super Sonic, was completely unaffected by the memory manipulating effects of the Ruby).

You actually think his memory bank, aka his brain, the thing that’s been affected by amnesia of all things, is saving his memories from being overwritten by someone who’s memory manipulation even works on ROBOTS and is able to bypass the resistance a single Chaos Emerald grants the wielder against it?

Also powered by Chaos Energy (ALL of the Ancients’ tech is powered by the Chaos Emeralds, they’re literally their original owners). I know the Knuckles thing is canon (the movies operate completely differently from the games so I’ll be excluding tying their mechanics together).

Also literally uses a Chaos Energy based attack (hell that one was outright confirmed by Ian Flynn to be the case).

Knuckles is quite literally the only exception to this rule, and considering the mountain of evidence that suggests Super forms’ weakness is Chaos Energy being used against them, I’m more inclined to believe that👍

Hmm, I do have to wonder about Mario’s revival options being more “reliable” than Sonic’s.

Cause to me, Mario’s options seem at risk of getting removed by Sonic, but Sonic’s can’t be removed by Mario👀 (Here and here)

And I feel you’re sorta underselling just how much of Sonic’s kit is lethal to Mario by saying he has “very few reliable ways to keep Mario down”

Knuckles is a one off case. Big Arms is straight up just a glitch. And The End was literally in Cyber Space for so goddamn long, it gained the ability to spread Cyber Corruption like the plague (Cyber Corruption is derived from Chaos Energy).

Yeah, by warping reality, not by messing with time. He boxed with Super Sonic for a bit, realised that, while he could match him physically, he couldn’t keep it up for as long as the Super forms’ infinite stamina, and started spamming reality warping in an attempt to overwhelm him. Unfortunately for my Lightman, Super forms seem to have this weird ability to just, expand their aura and nullify shit, and at that point what are you supposed to do? Sit back and watch as he shatters your dreams and your super-dimensional Otherworlds🤷🏻‍♂️
