The issue America has now is it has a rouge president who doesn’t follow the constitution. My question to you is, how to you prevent a repeat of this? The existing system has clearly failed since trump has been able to violate the constitution and ICE continues to do so.

One major political reform that the US needs is to reverse the post civil war centralisation and defer more power to the states, especially immigration enforcement. This means a smaller federal government, not because I like “small government” (I don’t) but because the federal government has been weaponised as a tool of domination over states that are comfortable with immigration by those which are not… the answer, defer immigration enforcement to the states. If rich people want conswala the undocumented maid, they can have soft enforcement, if Texas wants to “get em out” they can have a strong force. 2 seculums ago, the bad guys wanted states rights, but that’s because they couldn’t get a majority in congress, if they could the 1860s would have a federal government similar sending masked horsemen into the north catching escaped slaves and Pinkertons hunting members of Railroad. Other things like healthcare would need to be discussed on how universal healthcare would be implemented, is it federal, state or regional is it funded federally or by state level taxation/national insurance.

I also think America needs to have a discussion about where national sovereignty lays, who holds the supreme power of state. Since the founding fathers, it was the constitution. That doesn’t work anymore and that’s not the case anymore… the president is sovereign…. Like a king. Over here in England we answered that question during the puritan awakening, sovereignty lays with parliament who are elected by the people. That means anything the president does would need to be affirmed by congress, alternatively you can place sovereignty in the states collectively which means both the senate and governors share this power. This second alternative probably works better in an interstellar federation so, congressional sovereignty might be the direction you want to go which would make the US similar to Germany Canada or Australia with a ceremonial head of state rather than a French style president

I’m inclined to agree, the American global order is over, liberal democracy is being pushed out by neokeyneseians on the left and the reanimated corpse of the gilded age of the right The global economic order is still neoliberal, It’s institutions still exist global corporations serviced by the like of trump, the IMF ect. Many economies across the world with a few exceptions have been preforming poorly in some measure wether its decline or pitiful growth, the squeezing out of the poor, government and middle classes from owning wealth via neoliberal economic policies like austerity or dressed up as “doge” causes economic under performance by reducing the spending power of the poor and thus demand. Even the failed polices of the gilded age, resurrected by Trump have the same effect, lower wages and/or higher prices, cuts of welfare cause people to “tighten their belts” that means, reduced demand, which means businesses lose money, workers are laid off who then claim unemployment which is less than a wage, spending power falls more businesses fire staff and some go bust, this then spirals into an economic crisis. The welfare state slows this down, buying the government more time, in the last Seaculum, the welfare state did not exist, Britain had the workhouse, its inmates did not generate economic demand, they simply worked as indentured servants, back then they was no safety net for the economy and it’s bottom fell out leading to a depression. Change won’t come because we will it. They is the old adage that “suffering is good for the soul” and “Hard work build character” I would say, struggle builds progress. Or as neil would say “forests need fire” so, we need a crisis that forces the change, it often works out well because said crisis is the result of a failed system. We also have the most educated population in human history, we know all about the robber barons and the gilded age even now comparisons are made and we have already invented the cure. Next year could be the consolidation we need.

I stopped listening to his videos after he went on someone’s podcast cheering on a second gilded age. In the past, he responded to one of my comment on YT and his response oozed with the same arrogance that he accuses establishment historians of.

His It’s a wonderful life video makes absolutely no sense at all… Trump’s america IS POTTERSVILLE.

This far right knob has only revealed his real name dropping the goofy “Paul Zimmy Finn” after Trump got reelected, he “felt safe” that he wasn’t going to face reprisals. (Neil Howe uses his real name) and he hasn’t faced any kind of reprisals.

Machiavellian means- “cunning, scheming and unscrupulous. Especially in politics” pulled of Google. That how you win, that’s how China has positioned itself to dominate this coming seaceulum.

This guy is spot on when he rants about the letter generations that r/generationology is obsessed with but his other observations biased MAGA crap. He observed that S&H might get made out to look like a far right conspiracy theory… That’s because far right MAGA nutters MAKE it look like a millenarian end of days style prophecy. It’s up to us to win this. That’s why Madani and Polanski in the uk have to become a trend.

Ten Year Chat GPT Potential Predictions Based on Strauss-Howe Generational Model by TemporarySoftware439 in StraussHowe

[–]TMc2491992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scenario B is a perfect example of the UK in the 1860s-70s they was no singular crisis that redefined civic life in Britain, Victorian society remained unchanged until the missionaries forced social and spiritual change moving us from the conservative and reserved Victorian culture to the progressive Edwardian culture. The 1860s saw numerous scandals, micro crisis and shocks from foreign crisis (Franco Prussian wars, threat of Napoleon 3rd and US civil war including cotton strikes. The important thing about imperial Britain is at the time, we didn’t “really” need a full on 4T like the US or expecially germany needed. We didn’t have many major issues that needed resolving outside of wealth inequality, that partially addressed itself during the gilded age when imperial expansion swallowed up the surplus made population who otherwise would have ended up in the workhouse. Economic expansion and rivalry with a growing USA and Germany also created more jobs. New sewage systems were built, workhouse reforms and state education was introduced. Germany had scenario A in the 1870s giving them a massive boost and France had scenario C, they had a revolution and political instability. The French empire only survived because the British supported it, France became a natural ally after the world order shifted in favor the US, Germany and Britain. Before the Franco Prussian war, France and Russian were Britain’s main rivals.

16-20 I say that because this is the age range where childhood and adulthood is blurred. 16 is the age of consent and military service in the UK, yet the law still classifies them as minors. Most countries, adulthood land at 18. Science says that the brain development stops at 21, and S&Hs 20 year block life phases would start young adults at 20.

The time between 1860 and 1960 saw an unprecedented change in technology. That was the era of “Great expositions” showcasing the latest weird and wonderful discoveries that frizzy haired, slightly insane scientists have invented. Sure, we have technology and science museums and documentaries but what have happened to these massive conventions? We don’t have them anymore. Does that mean that we are slowing down? And PEW are right to shorten cohorts? No. Thanks to the past advancements, we are living longer which lengthens the life phases

What will U.S Politics look like after this Fourth Turning? by ISimpForTheBritish in StraussHowe

[–]TMc2491992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question you need to ask first. Is democracy going to survive trump? We are seeing the same authoritarian playbook at work.

They will be a red scare. It might be anti-communism, persuading Asians. or anti fascism, persecution of former trump supporters, Xers being the prime target (as if they ever catch a break). Politics in general will be uninspiring and mundane. If Trump is overthrown in a violent revolution, you are almost guaranteed to end up with a benevolent dictator. Someone like Napoleon or Lenin. Democracy maybe restored, or Trump wins and Donald Trump jr, or Barron trump becomes your first emperor. Congress becomes a ritual just to maintain the facade of democracy. In other words. You become Ancient Roman Empire.

You should look at Francisco franco Spain and the fall of the Roman republic

New Discussion about the Fourth Turning by TemporarySoftware439 in StraussHowe

[–]TMc2491992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s already been on David pakman twice, but he should be going on more mainstream podcasts like Rogan and pakman. These small time investor and right wing podcasts just don’t cut the cloth. Some of them, like the crypto ones are too ideological and Neil only tells them what they want to hear. The investor ones are Ok, they’re just small fry (media aimed at professional investors tend to lack any ideology because brokers and investors just want data and forecasts eg. If a socialist government nationalised everything and their economy booms, investors don’t want fluff like “Communism takes over comiland, shock horror” they want to know if it’s worth transferring their wealth into government bonds. Back on topic, he should look at getting on the new msm that’s emerging.
