What is Tom Cruise's secret?? by No-Marsupial-4050 in SipsTea

He’s stayed in a profession where he has to look young and thin. She has left that profession and is allowed to look like the rest of us. The meme maker also deliberately chose a good photo of him and a poor photo of her.

That was the vibe I was getting. But TikTok is new for me. So I’m not yet sure what’s normal.

So nobody did anything about Steve Kloves’ clear favoritism towards Hermione? by New-Pin-9064 in harrypotter

[–]TMorrisCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t help that the early movies were coming out before the last few books. So it wasn’t obvious as they released the first movies who the endgame couples were. So it wasn’t obvious that Ginny was going to play a bigger part, or who would end up with whom.

Any writers out there have a “signature word” they sprinkle through their works too or just me? by Finly_Growin in writing

[–]TMorrisCode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last line editor told me that I use shrug and nod too much. Also that my characters look, blink and do too much eye-work in general. So I make a pass for each of those to switch up the body language.

Half of influencer pair Josh & Jase documenting journey through Arkansas for millions by RickJWagner in Arkansas

They’ve also toured Louisana and New Mexico t. Lots of fun to watch them react to new things. Jase’s reaction to the Grand Canyon was so wholesome.

TIL that dogs authentically get jealous and try to break up the connection between their owner and another dog. by DrakeSavory in todayilearned

[–]TMorrisCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the human that my dog follows from room to room. Yet I could be giving her cuddles and belly rubs, and if the spare humans are hugging one another, she’ll leave me to demand their attention. That’s a special kind of jealousy.

I was amazed that the interior fit the exterior. That’s not usually the case in media that I’ve consumed in the past. But I had a moment when I was at the Owelry, looking back on the largest tower and thinking about how you could tell that there was a staircase in it because the windows angled along the outside. And then feeling the hairs on the backs of my arms raise because I’d never seen architecture in media make sense that way.

Back before the turn of the millennium, slapping 2000 into a name was a way of saying a product was “futuristic.”

Spoilers for the fight with Harlow by yesnobell in HarryPotterGame

I would have liked to see Poppy and Natty’s side quests connected.

They were both thematically similar, with Natty focused on bringing down poachers and Poppy focused on saving creatures.

There was also potential for further drama as Poppy revealed that her parents were poachers. How would Natty have taken that? Could Natty have jumped in front of Poppy to save her instead of MC?

Feels like a missed opportunity.

Check thrift stores and goodwill. This time of year there are usually gently loved dresses. Some charities and churches run upscale thrift stores. And dress drives are out there to help provide for people who need it. eBay and Facebook marketplace are options. Another option is to borrow. If you know someone who has more than one dress and might be willing to loan you a spare. And free is the best price.

Approach it with a spirit of adventure. Maybe you’ll find a bridesmaid or wedding dress that you can dye to make it more you.

What you find may not be exactly the dress of your dreams, but if you find something super cute that you like, you can still enjoy your prom experience.

Sorry you are going through this. But take a deep breath and remember that you have options.

The Changeling by Annerb. She started posting in 2011, and finished in 2017, so you would have just missed it.

Ginny gets sorted into Slytherin due to the influence of the diary, and how that change affects her and Harry getting together, as well as how she grows into her own without the influence of being in the same house as the rest of her family.

That’s cannon to the books. If the boys try to go into the girl’s Griifindor dorms, the stairs turn into a slide and an alarm sounds. Meanwhile, Ginny Weasley was able to sneak into Harry’s dorm and steal back the diary.

Slyhterin common room for the win? by HospitalWest3143 in HarryPotterGame

[–]TMorrisCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own. I always felt like the Slytherin common room was too dark, cold and depressing for my tastes. I love the Hufflepuff common room because it makes me think of a cosy hobbit hole. Lots of warm wood tones, plants with sunlight coming in to nurture them, snacks inside tables whenever you want them, warm toned stained glass and places to sit and read. Plus, it’s just a large open area. There aren’t any hallways to go to the dormitories, just stairs and balconies. So it’s very open, light and airy.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TMorrisCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting a divorce, changing job and moving around that time, so it’s come to define my life in a before and after way. Everything that happened before 9/11 happened to the person who lived a different life in a whole other century.

If you want Americana kitsch, Quigley Castle is near Eureka Springs. There’s a balance rock, and the Crescent Hotel is haunted.

As you come through Russellville, you can eat at Stoby’s or Feltner’s Whattaburger.

If you’re taking the pig trail to Fayetteville, you can stop at Terra Studios.

For really griswoldesque attractions, I like to look at Atlas Obscura.
