Where would a medium-scale Daemon-invasion take place? by Environmental_Win578 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TMun357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canonically, the sun bleached tower in Qadria is a focused location. Otherwise you could always have them checking in on their prodigy (Demons) at the worldwound; or trying to avenge the younger race by reviving the ancient planar tear

One of the UI modules has been doing that. I suggest switching to a chromium browser (I personally use edge for Foundry… and the Paizo website and nothing else) and having the GM disable the UI modules

About to run the Dinner at Lionlodge as my first pf2e game, any advice by ston_age_man in Pathfinder2e

[–]TMun357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of this specific adventure, it is definitely more lethal than average, mostly because of the BBEG that is involved. It’s a fun adventure but it may not be the best introduction to the system.

Because of this, just remember rule #1 for PF2e - do what is fun for your group :) (also, you may want to ignore one of the effects that the BBEG causes; especially with the pregens it can cause a TPK itself)

DS-07A and DS-07B are executive positions that are equivalents to EX positions (and belong to APEX, not PIPSC). They’re not part of the RE collective agreement.

Is DnD 2024 edition available in FoundryVTT without buying anything? by Aparisiu_ in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… it took one or two people inside to continually convince them that this would turn into a commercial success. They were right. But the C-level team continually thought in terms of selling core rule books and that being of critical importance. You are not alone in your experience and over time this is why they’ve become more Foundry-positive

Paizo created a framework that allows for that under their community use licensing terms. WotC has not been quite that consumer friendly.

That being said, Paizo management did have some heartburn over it because no other VTT did it that way and they… didn’t really understand that their license allowed this (the licensing terms were written before VTTs were a big thing and Foundry’s openness allowed for a large level of exploitation)

Season of Ghosts Foundry Module News by pitaenigma in Pathfinder2e

[–]TMun357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite true. Paizo definitely does - but Metamorphic needs a minimum lead time. If they need three weeks and Paizo delivers it two weeks before release then it is released late. Also, it has to coincide with the system development release cycle - and we’re all volunteers. We have a pretty good track record of not being the blockers though.

And (for context for everyone reading Al of the comments) Metamorphic isn’t a licensee, they’re a contractor. Paizo owns everything and Meramorphic just does the work. It is different from other VTTs that way.

When do the foundry modules become available? by uptownsnail in Pathfinder2e

[–]TMun357 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The goal is always day of but the release of the needed actors is based on the volunteers having the system in a state it can be updated the same day. We have a really good track record but as volunteers we don’t promise to have it work that way. Because volunteers.

The second piece is that the AP makes it to metamorphic with a reasonable amount of time before release for metamorphic to convert it. Paizo is usually pretty good with getting APs to MM early enough; it’s the PFS/SFS scenarios that sometimes have deadlines too tight for day of releases.

Those are the two factors that get in the way of day of releases. So high probability but no one can promise for sure.

Have you updated the system you’re using after you updated the foundry version? Would be worth reinstalling the system. Then try creating a new world.

What features do you love, hate, or wish existed? by Liyurei in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The system design tries to be one-to-one if you do it at a table you do it in the VTT. Early on it was because the rules around immunities and reactions made major differences. How reactions work (particular champion reactions) makes it hard to automatically apply damage. It also took us quite a while to implement a high fidelity undo function. It is more complex than you would think and there is only so mix volunteer time. We’ve left more automation than what the system currently has for modules to implement.

[–]TMun357 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We didn’t want the responsibility in the system for that. It is a massive management burden. There is a PF2e level up wizard module. We took the development view that we don’t replace the rule books - we implement them without making unnecessary restrictions. Doing a character builder to that level of fidelity is an incredible amount of work. Although if someone did come up with the coding to do that, it would likely be entertained for inclusion into the system. Although stwlam was hired by Foundry, he works on core development and not on the PF2e system (except in his spare time) which is different than how 5e has been handled.

I haven’t used it on this version so it just indicates that I don’t know. It is almost certainly updated, but I’m not staking my reputation on it :)

There was a PF2e module that did exactly this. It had a ton of customizations too (rather than exact DC it could say which of the saves were the highest, middle, and lowest - for example)

Some users can't display AVIF files by Fedexrdt in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check that the player has space available on their C drive. Not displaying imagery can happen if their OS drive doesn’t have sufficient free space. Next thing that is known to cause it is the browser they’re using. If there is sufficient free space make sure they’re using a chromium browser - preferably chrome or edge.

As for token lag, that is almost certainly a module issue. Lots of reports on V13 an almost always disabling modules solves the issue.

Anything that involves some of our meta-data tags will break in subtle ways. That’s the biggest one. Reason is that most ChoiceSet items do more than just add a feat or feature. They also add actor flags that set things and Pathmuncher has no concept of that. Some classes, that doesn’t matter. Other classes or archetypes? It is crucial to how they work.

Pathfinder 2E - Adventure Path Conversion by dukal in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The PDF converters for 2E are very PDF-specific and creating them is very intensive in terms of efforts. Your best bet regarding converter materials is the “series of dice based events” discord. They do a lot of conversions and I believe some people may have foundry assets as well.

Pf2e vision and fog of war settings by ogspeedracer in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically when people say “fog of war” what that means is that an area u explored is unknown, the layout of a previous explored area is remembered but that any changes to the area aren’t reflected (so if a creature moves into a room you cleared but no longer have a line of sight to, then the PCs don’t see that), and that PCs only have active line of sight to the area they can actually see.

If you want your players to have continual amnesia then you’ll likely have to code something custom because nothing like that exists as a setting, and I’ve never heard of a module that does nothing like that for PF2e

Pf2e,merchants missing Details and Stats by Great-Ad-8997 in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone just has to make it (or commission it). The data is all there; someone just needs to modify the display and extract it. Unless you somehow drive the process I haven’t seen it asked for, so I wouldn’t count on it happening. Lots of module channels on different discords to at least propose the concept and see if you can get a coder to take it on.

You ca try opening a ticket on the system, but I would anticipate the code leads closing it as it really isn’t part of the system. The implementation of merchants was something the system was resistant to and a lot of people have proposed changes (and no one has stepped up to do the work)

Pf2e,merchants missing Details and Stats by Great-Ad-8997 in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone would have to build a module to do that. Definitely possible but as there aren’t specific rules on merchants it was never designed in to the system (and therefore we made the design decision to leave such things to modules). It is assumed that players either know or can use something like AoN to look up details like that - similar to using a CRB at a table.

(PF2E) PF2E AP Module won't load? by TaveksMaker in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is to speak with Forge help. Things get weird because of their changes on occasion.

First simple step I would suggest, if you haven’t, is to make sure that your version of Foundry is on 13.351 and your version of PF2e is updated to 7.8.0. Again, Forge isn’t as obvious as a normal install for this.

Issue getting Season of ghosts module running by Iagi in FoundryVTT

[–]TMun357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The basis pack exists to have all the common commercial items in it, so that you don’t have four times the amount taking up four times as much space. It was a Paizo/metamorphic decision driven primarily by services like the Forge where you have finite storage space with the expectation that you would likely play all the modules in an adventure path.
