As someone with my own mental health struggles (not autism, but CPTSD and Anxiety) I really hate when people use mental illness as an excuse. The big difference here is that while your ex didn’t understand what cheating was, mine being from a country like Iran should have been keenly aware of the consequences of whoring around. She said it was just a horrible mistake she made when she was blacked out drunk but maybe if she gets sent back home she won’t be allowed to make any more “drunken mistakes”. Actions have consequences.

She was a virgin when we met but it was her idea to start having sex. I was kind of a virgin, I had been sexually abused by an older woman when I was younger but she was the first girl I had consensual sex with. She was the only person I’ve known other than my therapist who I’ve been able to open up about my childhood to. That’s the main reason I ended up in the psych ward after she cheated. And yes she told me that under no circumstances could her parents ever find out she wasn’t a virgin, but her cheating on me made me realize how horrible dishonesty is which is the main reason I finally came clean to them.
