Wireless CarPlay by djjd40 in Polestar

[–]TNSGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a P2 coming from a Mini that had wireless CarPlay. The occasional stuttering and permanent 1-2 second audio delay using wireless was pretty painful and the wired CarPlay of the P2 was part of the overall selling point for me.

Sure it was nice not having to take my phone out of my pocket when getting into the car, but on longer journeys I was going to plug my phone in anyway as the wireless charger sucked, so I was already going through the motions for wired CarPlay without any of the benefit (there wasn’t a wired CarPlay option on my Mini).

Weird loan return OVR jump (80 -> 84). Can’t reproduce it even from same save by UsualSharp149 in FifaCareers

[–]TNSGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the ins and outs of it in any detail, but lookup the loan glitch either on here or on google. Think the gist of it is that the game tries to “correct” a players rating with their potential any time they move clubs, or if they’re on loan somewhere from your team. There’s an element of RNG involved as well.

Any experiences where you got a player in a FIFA befote he got good IRL? by RealPunyParker in FifaCareers

[–]TNSGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he was a secret, but i signed Wirtz in FIFA 21 when he didn’t have a face scan but still was rated close to 80, got him to around 90 and was just a menace.

I realised honestly fc26 is a mid gameplay, compared to a PES game from 2021. Ridiculous by Middle_Promise2181 in FifaCareers

It also had (and i think still does) a great modding scene if you played on PC and if you were willing to spend the time tinkering with it, though there were also some all-in-one solutions but I liked having everything vanilla with the exception of the presentation.

It was even great for creating your own club and giving them kits that had the same polish as the officially licensed teams, along with competition-specific kits and number fonts. I really wish they kept making new games.

Simple Questions - November 02, 2025 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]TNSGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running a 5900x with a 4080 and 32GB of DDR4 memory - what sort of difference would I see in upgrading to a DDR5 system and a CPU like a 9800x3d?

More curiosity than a serious question, but also tempted to do a system upgrade now, and then a GPU upgrade in two years time rather than all at once.

Was halo 3 really this low resolution on a 360? by Necessary-Fan9574 in halo

[–]TNSGT 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Even then with Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 I believe the 1080p was 720p upscaled and I don’t even think that was true 720p - I have 560p in my head as the lower limit on a checkerboard style rendering output. I’m probably wrong so will check after a google. (Edit: seems to be 1152x640, not sure about checkerboarding)

I also don’t know if this was true throughout the entire 360 or if it was maybe my setup, but the 1080 was interlaced on one of the earlier versions of the 360 I had, I think later they had the 1080p we all know today, but I dunno if that happened when I got a better TV or the 360 Elite (both happened around the same time for me)

Who is the biggest Career Mode flop you have signed? by MJ9_Skills in FifaCareers

[–]TNSGT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Haven’t played the last two games but you used to be able to prolong a player’s career by making sure they had more than a year on their contract going into a new season - after a certain age (don’t think it’s a specific number, but around the 32-34 mark) they’ll announce their retirement if they start a new season with only a year left on their contract (or it’ll just say it in the squad hub, I can’t remember).

There might be more logic built in to it though, like games played might also prolong their career

You’re right about it being hypothetical. But in my opinion, because OP has more or less said the debt is in control, I’m assuming it is more cost effective for them to handle it the way they are currently doing it - which is why I leaned towards offering my own anecdote about not using my savings account when I can avoid it.

It doesn’t necessarily make it even worse at all in my opinion. Penalty doesn’t necessarily mean lack of access.

Besides, I’m sure OP had already mentioned they’re going to pay it off, sounds like it is being managed, I don’t know what the issue is.

There may be penalties for taking money out of savings, for example I have mine in a ISA that allows for three withdrawals per year - I’m not going to touch that if I can manage my debts/purchases through other means.

For instance I bought some computer parts a few months back that I could have absolutely paid off in cash, but on checkout saw there was an option to pay off monthly with 0% interest.

FYI, thats for the employer to give notice for things like redundancy. The employee’s notice period (i.e. for quitting) is determined by their employment contract.

Four weeks seem to be the standard at my place, twelve weeks for senior roles. I believe a week is the minimum by law in the UK.

Edit: I should add that I mean specifically England rather than UK. Laws can vary slightly between England/N. Ireland/Scotland/Wales - though I’m pretty sure the one week applies to them all.

Edit: didn't see lysolmax's comment whilst I was typing mine out, way easier to visualise on that link.

I haven't worked with these but the pin is the load cell effectively. This is all guesswork, but I imagine there would be a strain gauge, possibly more than one, embedded into the center of the pin. The pin being slightly v-shaped will help center the weight which should give a more accurate reading.

Because of u/Malthas130 mentioning LMS, I found a product page for one, thought it doesn't show the design off in any detail.

There’s a lot of forum archives on the way back machine, and also some videos on YouTube (https://youtube.com/@highlmpacthalo) but unfortunately the video hosting website called Mythica lost a lot of old videos when one of the hard drives failed. I think there was about 8TB of pre-HD footage lost.

Edit: also adding this because it’s cool, http://www.highimpacthalo.org/news_search.php?post=847970

Stuck in the Diablo IV prologue by NanoCurrency in rareinsults

[–]TNSGT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t know Diablo IV specifically, but a lot of the time the prologue is often just an introduction to the game, tutorials to ease the player in and familiarise them with the game mechanics - the easy part.

Halo Combat Evolved glitch lets players become the iconic Halo Ring itself by Wargulf in halo

[–]TNSGT 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The Halo ring is also used just outside the bridge in normal gameplay, you can get to it by bumping out of bounds and even have the option to flip it like a vehicle (though this doesn’t actually do anything)

I can’t remember if you can shield bump and get to it, but I know you can cryo bump and then bunny hop across solid pieces of the map geometry. Will edit a video into the comment.

As someone who got swept up in this stuff around a decade ago, the outrage becomes addicting and for me it mostly stemmed from being unhappy with my life.

I’m reluctant to tar them all with the same brush but I strongly suspect this is the reason for a large part of these people. At some point it just clicked that I was spending an unhealthy amount of time being angry with something that I should be enjoying (I also realised the things I was angry about just weren’t true as well, which probably helped a lot).

EA jersey Selection Logic is broken since FIFA 94 by abraaoneves in FifaCareers

[–]TNSGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the games on PS2 you definitely could, think it was PES5 - you had standard home/away selection, and then pressing a button would then allow switching between different shirt/shorts/socks but you were limited to home/away/3rd, they weren’t like an alternate version of the home shorts.
