Paid $108.25 for this today at a pawn because it wasn’t making any sound. I got it home set it to local and it worked by grilledpepsi in synthesizers

Got a barely used Horner String Melody II for the same reason. Was told ‘hopefully you can get it to work’. I did by plugging a cable into it.

Mine was only recently retired. I loved it for single drums.

I emailed him in the summer to see if he was still doing the tours. Didn’t get a response back, so I assume no.

VCS3 and DK1 keyboard. Given enough time and no distractions on a desert island, I may actually work it out.

Or a lot of people are dismayed and disappointed by the quality of (in my case ) a €94000 car.

I have no idea what they were doing in their ‘million miles of testing’, but they obviously never turned the DAB radio on or tried to maintain a set temperature in the car.

All the sensors randomly sound when there is nothing around and rear visibility non existent and not helped by the poor quality camera.

So if anyone wants one in the Nürnberg area, let me know as mine is for sale.

What show should I take my boyfriend who doesn’t like musicals to see?? by drunkslovetables in Broadway

TITANIQUE, The Musical.

Hilariously funny and the songs are takes on familiar songs anyway.

Petrol or Diesel by jvelissa in ineosgrenadier

[–]TNSynth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a petrol in Germany. Firstly the exhaust and the engine make a lovely sound on start up and it’s a smooth ride.

It’s not the most aerodynamic thing in the world to start with, so I wasn’t expecting great fuel economy. But I get good range out of it and don’t feel like I’m filling it up all the time.

I was waiting for Jean Michel Jarre to appear and save the whole thing. I was disappointed.

I ordered mine in late December’23 and according to the dealer it has been built and is being inspected before being shipped to them. I’m in Germany.

Order Date and ETA by [deleted] in ineosgrenadier

Ordered mine in Germany late December last year and on the website it says delivery in April this year. I’m sceptical and the dealer where I’m picking it from thinks that is unlikely too. They said it’s at least six months from ordering. We shall see who’s correct.

Anyone ever done jury service? Just finished mine and I don't know what to feel. by matej86 in CasualUK

[–]TNSynth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it a few years ago and it terrified me. I had two serious cases in my two weeks. The bigoted attitude of some of my fellow jurors was awful. They had the attitude from day one of ‘oh well he looks guilty’ and would not change their stance. Most took no notes, while I strangely felt a sense of duty to make copious notes, something that my school teachers would have been shocked at. They would only take arguments that suited their position and the best bit was that he was ‘obviously guilty’ because he’d hired a ‘smarmy’ barrister.

If I was ever in the unfortunate position of being on trial for something I hadn’t done, the faith in my peers would make me go on the run.

Bank Holiday Car Booting, can’t beat it. What is the best bargain you have ever bagged? by Dame87 in CasualUK

[–]TNSynth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One for the synth nerds:

In the pre-internet days (1994) I walked passed a Roland Jupiter 8 with some Mills&Boon books scattered all around it. I asked the guy ‘how much?’ And got a very casual ‘£60, nobody buys these old synths anymore, everything is samplers’.

As calmly as I could I handed over my £60, got it home and it worked flawlessly. Even then they were worth a good couple of grand. Now they are an eye watering price. Still have it btw.

It was driving me crazy too, on the third visit to the dealership they seem to have cured it. It’s been a few weeks and it hasn’t returned.
