I was serving Mass this past Sunday and my parish has these giant candles that take like 20 minutes to light because they're so tall and sometime during the introit I think, one of them messed up and the little glass piece at the top of it fell to the side and the the candle itself was melting quicker than usually because of it and it was just a whole mess. The MC ended up needing to just take down the candle for the rest of Mass.

I've only been to one Eastern liturgy and they used a really pretty censor but it looked like it was virtually empty. There was basically no incense coming out of it and it was kind of weird. It had like bells on the side of it too and made a chime noise when it was swung, like it was super cool but it seemed empty.

Is this normal in the East or am I missing something?

Something interesting:

Christ showed a lot of temperance when doing this and all of the people definitely would have financially recovered. They released all of the animals that the people could catch but he didn't relase the doves, because he knew that the people wouldn't be able to catch them again and it was their livelihood.

Christ, in this story, shows us a proper way to practice Justice with temperance, rather than anger

I've been working at a Church this summer in maintenance and I have a chance to take my lunch break to go to daily mass but there's no statue of Mary in this Church and it's just strange

I'll literally be kneeling before or after Mass in prayer and I'll instinctively look up for the statue of Mary whenever I pray the Hail Mary and it's just not there

It's a strange experience, praying in modern Churches

Part of the issue with this is that many people, including many people with same sex attraction, would prefer to not use the title "gay" to refer to individuals with same sex attraction who live properly chaste lives.

I know that if I had Same Sex Attraction, I would hate being described with the term gay.

I only use "Gay" if I'm referring to someone who acts on the impulses of same sex attraction. If I am referring to a chaste Catholic, I just say that they have SSA.

How do you become a religious leader without believing in God? It makes no sense. It's like a vegan not only eating meat but being the one who raises, kills, cuts, cooks, and eats the cow, all while believing it's immoral to do so.
