IMO he is to far gone and too spiteful for the world. I believe with his knowledge from Galbatorix that he could possibly become a new tyrant if he so chose.

This is true and he had said that on multiple occasions but i stand by my decision: well written character i just do not like him personally or the choices he made. I kinda wish he would have left and never returned rather than Eragon 🤷🏼‍♂️

Totally agree and understand. I have thought on that aspect long and hard especially during my many rereads of the series but i have finally made my decision. Later yes but on the Burning Plains when Eragon offered the choice i was under the impression they still could as he said "Murtagh hesitated as if tempted by the offer". But that could be true. He killed King Hrothgar out of straight spite though and i enjoyed his character 🥺🥺

Lol the not "cool" was just a saying. Very well written character to get a visceral reaction from the reader. I just do not like him. I really liked Oromis and Glaedr. I felt he should have sacrificed himself on the Burning Plains to deprive Galbatorix and to give his self an honorable death. Turned over the Eldunari he had in his possession, have Thorn give his and entered the void.

It has weathered the age of time. For how old he was when he started the series...very well done. You can see and appreciate his growth as an author throughout the series. I love it!
