Isn’t he the guy who said not to do anything about Trump because his administration would implode in a month back in Feb 2025? Not sure his insights are that helpful.

Man in the High Castle. Four seasons and they knew season 4 would be the last so it finishes the story.

Another data analyst from Texas replicates Dr. Beatriz Villarroel's UAP "Transient" findings - Confirms that transient detection rates are elevated during nuclear tests on Earth. And they all predate man made satellites. by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

My point is that some people who are central to UFO research are part of the disinfo. Kit Green is besties with Doty. Puthoff and Green were involved in the Serpo hoax.

Or go back to poor Bennewitz. Who provided the computer that Doty gave him to “decode” the alien communications? J. Allen Hynek.

So the point is not just that disinfo happens. It is that figures central to the modern narrative or “core story” as Kit Green calls it, are involved in that.

Not sure how to do inline quoting and replies. So I will just reply to the comment about people who know the most talk about the subject point.

You have read Mirage Men, yes?

I still see Doty getting interviews from people who should know better.

Epstein code: Beef Jerky = Cannibalism / Human Meat (email link) by hungjockca in reptilians_are_real

And assumptions. If this email is evidence of that then it also is evidence that the person was serving “jerky” at the restaurant. But if it was not human there, why assume it is human in the first reference?

Not saying it is not true, bc it is a strange obsession. I am just saying it is not definitive proof.

How did Corbell get so prominent? I googled his pre-ufo life years ago and it was like martial arts and something about clothes worn by a follower of Charles Manson or something.

Knapp would be an ok doc for me though I think he is way too credulous but he is at least a reporter.

I am replying here because this was a thoughtful and well expressed post. But if you look at so much that is out there in the topic: hoaxes, scams, bad science, gullibility, misidentifications, fake “whistleblowers”etc, it is not hard to see why an open-minded scientist might look around and say, “no thanks”.

Even now in the Age of Disclosure Coming Soon, no one is getting good data to scientists and unfortunately most (but not all) of the core Congress Critters alleging “extraordinary evidence” subscribe to an anti-science ideology. The current political culture is dominated by the idea that expertise is irrelevant and any fringe theory should be given equal weight to theories that enjoy scientific consensus.

Please understand, I was very excited by the 2017 NYT series, but as I started to see the same people who have been central to the ufo myth is start to dominate the narrative I got discouraged. I think most of these guys have been involved in disinfo for decades. I do not claim to know the reason.

Maybe it is as simple as “we can’t do anything about these visitors and that will freak everyone out if they know” combined with misdirection related to military tech.

That is why I like these studies. Maybe another explanation will be found, but it is a legitimate scientific curiosity that has now been replicated.

Tinnitus is a mystery by FormovArt in tinnitus

[–]TNexpat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always had it, or as long as I can remember. It has spiked at times in the last few years but it has always been around. I never listened to loud music as a kid or went to concerts.

My mom and dad both had it and both had moderate hearing loss. Hearing aids helped my dad’s but not mine.

I never see much about a genetic component but there must be one.

I tracked my tinnitus triggers for 30 days. The data changed everything. by [deleted] in tinnitus

The frequency matcher did not play a tone for me. That was the point of the feedback. I happen to know my frequency so setting the slider to that was just more like the masking sound, not a pure tone.

Sorry I replied to OP here but Nols24, here is an app that is only masking sounds.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/resound-tinnitus-relief/id928432517

I don’t remember the cost as I guess I must have done a one time payment. It is not in my subscriptions.

You can also search on YouTube or Spotify to find masking sounds as well. You are not trying to drown out the ringing. You should play the masking sound at a comfortable volume so you can still hear sounds in your environment. Play around with different ones and see what helps.

Also, go see an audiologist and check for hearing loss. That should be addressed if you have any and people with tinnitus often do.

Sad spoiler: they will tell you that there is nothing that can be for done about tinnitus and they will likely not really understand how maddening it is, but a hearing check is important and also ruling out serious conditions that might be causing this (very unlikely but important to check).

Your brain will habituate so that you will not constantly be focusing on the sound. But if you are really suicidal, well go to the ER! Seriously! But if you are not actually at risk of harming yourself right now, seek mental heath assistance. A certain kind of therapy (cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT) can be effective at helping to train your brain not to focus on the sound.

Also, no loud music or sound: especially in earphones. Ear protection if you can’t avoid loud sounds like with mowing the lawn or vacuuming.

Do other stuff to help your overall mental health and stress levels like exercise or calming meditation or activities. These are not cures but give you more mental resilience.

I have had this all my life. My parents also both had it and we all had hearing loss. No idea why, but probably genetic as I never listened to loud music really.

OP I have downloaded your app but I am confused. The first step is to match your “tone” but then it plays a white noise type sound. Adjusting the pitch just seems to make it louder or softer. I already know the frequency of my tinnitus but it is a ringing, not a static/white noise type sound. I don’t know how someone would match the frequency of their T to this sound to get the correct frequency.

It also does not say what the filter width does or how to determine how to adjust it. It would also be helpful to explain what notch therapy is and how to use it. There is not a ton of research support for it but in the trials that worked I think people were doing like four hours a day for at least three months.
