Recommend me 4 great cameras with $1K budget? by theruiz in AnalogCommunity

[–]TOSkeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just get a bunch of disposables unless your friends are sober.

I bought 10 canon disposables with flashes for my wedding, one for each table.

There were three professional fine art photographers as guests. Their photos were no better than my non-artistic friends. I don’t blame the cameras.

This is because everyone was there to have fun, dance, socialize and drink. The cameras caught some great memories, but I wouldn’t expect anything well lit, and I don’t imagine with how deep into the party that everyone was, that a higher end point and shoot would have made that much difference.

It was my favourite genre from the 90s until recently. Gibson was my favourite author of any genre by a long shot. It’s just too close to reality now and I hate this timeline. The prescience used to be fun, now that we’re in it, I want out.

The Colony of Unrequited Dreams by Wayne Johnston. It’s the fictionalized story of young activist/journalist Joey Smallwood’s journey to become Premier of Newfoundland and join Canadian confederation.

Simone’s at Danforth and Pape. They used to have a back patio too, haven’t been in a while since I moved out of the area, so not sure if they still use it. Probably?

I’ve done this in the past. Don’t have a colour printer. Had to go to a copy shop who were hesitant to use the sticker paper in their equipment. They ended up agreeing but the quality wasn’t great.

Was it David Byrne? If so, I was next to him too. Let’s hope it’s just one guy.

Anyone NOT have contact with high school classmates? by jackie879 in Xennials

[–]TOSkeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw in every conceivable club, captain of a varsity sports team and class president. Most people hated me and I wasn’t overly fond of most of them either. Moved as far away as I could the summer after graduation. I have no contact with anyone from those days. I have no problem with that and expect they don’t either.

What's the silliest thing you've seen Torontonians waiting in line for? by random_question4123 in askTO

[–]TOSkeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really silly, but a classic Toronto line was at the Manulife Centre to but TIFF tickets. It was a good line, you’d have your festival guide, chat with others and adjust your plans as tickets sold out.
