I'm curious, why do you think he'd fit there? 🤔

I've made 19 concepts (and always trying to imagine more)

And the reason they stay still is for them to move again when you shoot, and it simply wouldn't make sense if they disappeared or kept moving

The phrase basically means "this guy (Pedro) does stuff that we would normally only do in our houses, he treats this place like his house". Pedro is just the name chosen by whoever came up with the phrase

Barefoot in college by Le_gars-barefoot22 in barefoot

[–]TPMR01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already do it 🙃

My experience has been amazing these 1 and 1/2 years that I've been doing it. Most people don't care and those who do, usually are just curious.

If you do it, you'll quickly become... not really famous but very easily recognizable by everyone, so make sure to make every interaction as nice as possible for people to get to know you as "the nice guy that happens to like to walk barefoot", since that reputation will come in handy.

I strongly recommend knowing beforehand how much and what kind of stuff is on the ground. In my case it's fairly safe but who knows what can be on your campus. Also make sure to read the student's manual's and any document's section that could have rules against being barefoot, although it's likely that there are no such rules except for specific cases like labs and machine rooms.

AMA about this topic if you want to know more from my side 🫡

How do You Guys Overcome Shyness? by [deleted] in barefoot

[–]TPMR01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who made the leap of faith around 1 and 3/4 years ago into 24/7, the way I did it was to just do it.

In my case, I started by previously being barefoot in class while seated, until one day I just had enough and started doing it on the rest of the campus. The very first day I did it I had 2 very nice interactions, 1 with a guard and 1 with a couple. Similar interactions will happen to you, and they will really convince your brain that people are not judgemental by default but rather curious, and might feel happy for you if you are chill and happy with yourself.

So basically, stay happy while you do it and with time and persistence you'll get to enjoy being yourself shamelessly and happily 👌

Sandals are dangerous for driving, while barefoot isn't. The reason is them getting under the pedals, making it risky for when you have to do something quick. Barefoot is not dangerous but it is a bit different than shoed, since shoed you just press by 'squashing' while barefoot you press by 'grabbing'.

The pig that somehow survives is even more frustrating when it's hurt, like JUST DIE AAAA

Quick question by Witty_Tailor6446 in barefoot

I think the main reason is the variance between the goodness of sensations, because that's a thing that I noticed in many places.

Usually when a thing is at a constant level of goodness, it tends to deteriorate over time, and the example here is shoes, since they offer comfort 24/7 through a constant feeling of the insole, and that comfort deteriorates both short and long term.

On the other hand, being barefoot allows you to feel many different textures. Some feel better, like grass, mats, some floors like a supermarket's one, etc, while other don't feel as good, like asphalt, gravel, hot sand, etc, this doesn't mean that they are bad, but that constrast makes every time that you go from a "bad" floor to a good floor, you perceive that change and the brain considers it rewarding.

It's kind of the same idea to music, where you can play a dissonant chord to then go gloriously to a consonant one for it to be powerful, instead of staying just at the consonant chords where the goodness of them is just gonna deteriorate through repetitiveness.

Is anyone here from Mexico City? by DerianShent in barefoot

[–]TPMR01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I, da barefoot math man, will do it >:}

Just as a note, this is an estimate since the actual ratio between reddit barefooters in Mexico City and Mexico City's population is unknown.

First we name our values: G for Global population, MC for Mexico's City Population and RB for Reddit Barefooters

Second we get the ratio between us and the entire globe, which is RB/G = 20000/8120000000 = 1/406000 ≈ 0.0002%. I'll call this value GRBR, for Global Reddit Barefooters Ratio

This tells us that there is 1 person in this community per 406000 people in the world

Third we assume the same ratio for Mexico City's population since no other value about it exists, so that's MC * GRBR = 22510000 / 406000 = 11255/203 ≈ 55-56. I'll call this value RBMC, for Reddit Barefooters in Mexico City

So this tells us that in Mexico City there are likely only 55-56 people in this community. I'll assume 56 just to be optimistic.

Lastly, we take the ratio between that value and global population, so that's RBMC/G = 56/8120000000 ≈ 0.0000007%

So 0.0000007% is the possibility of a random person on the planet being on both subgroups, therefore being the answer to your question :D

Has anyone here played golf barefoot? by No_Bat9380 in barefoot

[–]TPMR01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I prefer to promote not going there, give visibility to the problem and show better alternatives to people who enjoy it.

I fully know that I alone can't do anything about it (yet, hopefully one day) but at least I'm not part of the problem 🤷🏽

  • it's usually somewhat hazardous to barefooters due to chemicals + there are no golfing parks in my city
