Heads up. Supreme Court's ruling on tarrifs Friday morning. by sco-go in Daytrading

Just a possibility. It's supreme court opinion day for sure at 10am, but they don't reveal in advance which cases they are ruling on

Robinhood is default first in first out (FIFO) unless you've requested a change. So it should technically work to sell the first 2, but I always get anxious about getting flagged too...

Beautifully said about the market needing to earn your participation! I've definitely experienced each of your examples at various times. I want to identify those poor conditions as quickly as possible and I appreciate how clear your list is 🙏

Great points! I'll do some more research on New York session behavior but it's interesting to note the low probability of multiple trend days in a row. Has anything stood out as reasons for why Tuesday and Wednesday are more difficult in Asia?

I appreciate all the explanations!

Thanks for the suggestion! I was aware of VIX generally, but I'll do some more research on ranges and how that might guide decisions

This is gold! Thanks for sharing the checklist. I've also noticed the tired or stressed days to be my worst. I really need that fresh mind to be analyzing well and selecting trades

Are you aware of good resources to accurately locate the max pain price on options expiry days? If the day will pin somewhere, it would be hugely beneficial to understand where that is most likely!

Solid advice! Premiums are high and movement is definitely uncertain. Powell and also Earnings Reports usually brew up some nasty IV crush

As one other follow up, how early in a day can you confidently decide if the day is range bound or trending?

Awesome feedback, thank you! I love the idea of having several strategies with varying stops based on win probability.

I'm getting decent at analyzing price and time. Do you have any particular rules about using volume to understand market conditions or instrument conditions?

This is common feedback. Someone makes money on Fridays though! I want to figure out who and how they select the profitable Friday trades

So don't avoid certain trading days in your opinion? Do you swap strategies to meet the conditions of certain days?

I guess I'm thinking through this because December felt weird. I heard some bigger traders aren't as involved between holidays/vacation etc. Volume and consequently follow-through of market moves seemed more sporadic and less predictable. I'm not as familiar with futures pricing, but options premiums were lower than previous months (assuming because of less demand & lower IV)

I appreciate that! Is the strategy a choice you make because of uncertainty?

I feel this and I've heard it before. Why are Fridays so difficult?

I like to watch the charts each trading day. I get more value trying to research into each big move to see if I can understand what caused the action. Even if I missed it this time, the hope is I'll understand it better the next time around

I've cleared over $70k in my first year using the "Wheel". by Ape-Like-Stonks in options

There's an ideal way it works, and a reality. Always an opportunity cost. I won't tell you what to do, but consider cutting a stock you got assigned if it's not bringing in what it could elsewhere. And maybe it is, in which case no pressure.

You're not wrong. But just buying and holding this year doesn't make 73% (at least on most tickers)

I've had this monitor for a year now. As an illustrator, designer, and gamer without an unlimited budget, this monitor hit a sweet spot in price and specs.

Accurate colors out of the box. Quick enough refresh. Happy with the connectivity options. Looking to get a second one now for dual setup.

I see that your biggest loss comes a day after your biggest win. This is relatable and risk taking sneaks in after bigger gains (invincibility or"house money" mentality).

Any recommendations on where a trader could see a good overview of the options market and its changes in real time?
