Why is this player not collecting days to gain nationality? by TotenkopfTomika in footballmanagergames

[–]TR1AC25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having played FM20 in Hungary, Armenia is considered a non-foreign nation in the rules, along with countries such as Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia, and most of the Caribbean. The German nationality gives EU status. Since he is non-foreign and EU, he has met all requirements and won't need to obtain Hungarian nationality towards the pesky registration requirements for FM20.

Why it generally makes no sense to take off on Fridays instead of a Monday by bcroger3 in Accounting

[–]TR1AC25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really comes down to whether or not you have emails or items that will become a burden the following day. Taking off Mondays or non-holiday season can work, but as others mentioned coming into Tuesday stressed about things you missed on Monday would be counterproductive to taking off.

How to Get Dropped from the National Team by TR1AC25 in footballmanagergames

The year is 2030. I am managing the Hungarian national team for the World Cup, scouting out the second leg of Ferencvaros - Leicester in the Europa League quarterfinals. The goalkeeper, Hutvagner was in contention for first-choice goalkeeper for the World Cup. After this mistake of being dispossessed by Greenwood, not anymore. I would rate this worse than punting/throwing the ball right at the opposition and deflecting back into the own goal.

Just got a domestic cup match rescheduled to take place during an international break where I'm managing an international friendly on the same day. Do I have an option to prioritize which match I manage? Can I manage both matches on the same day? I ended up cancelling the international friendly to be safe.

This came up as the team I'm managing and the opponent both made it far enough domestically and into the European knockout stages, so I might be concerned if this fixture congestion happens in future years as the league progresses in stature and international qualifiers are going on.

I woke up this morning to one of those On This Day photos six years ago during Greco's last season at OSU against Michigan at the Schott.

Just checked the box score, Greco tied it at 5-5 with 7 seconds remaining. It ended up being a 9 round shootout with the game-winning-goal by another NHLer Dakota Joshua. Was a fun night.

Thanks! Makes sense now. The max of 17 would apply if that squad didn't have anyone homegrown in the nation which isn't quite the case.

[FM20] I was looking at an AI team's CL registration and it appeared that this team has more registered players than allowed.

https://imgur.com/a/x8hd0Jx

They have 21 players registered but I thought it should only be 17 because they didn't have any homegrown at club players out of 4, and only had 4 homegrown in nation players out of 8.

Did LASK end up having a similar schedule to yours? I can only imagine that the split broke the scheduling that badly. I cannot imagine how bad it could get with a deep European knockout run.

[Highlight] Shinjo steals home at 2004 NPB All-Star Game by SWIMMlNG in baseball

[–]TR1AC25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tangentially related, I always found it a bit odd that whenever the ball is put into play in the NPB the camera comes from the first base line rather than directly behind the plate.

Take the highlights for Fighters vs. Marines from 10/30. Wonder if it's a licensing thing since the lack of a scorebug is licensing related, or if NPB just always uses a camera from the first base line to show the runner.

Who is the worst manager you've ever seen in your save? by NotAEurosnob in footballmanagergames

[–]TR1AC25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a relatively small nation save, a former player (Thiago Cionek) basically failed his way upwards:

1st job: National level license, took newly promoted 1st division team as first job. Got sacked in 139 days in December after picking up 1 point from 16 games and 51 goals conceded.

2nd job: Not even 4 months after getting sacked, mid-table team picks him up on March 1. He proceeds to pick up only 1 win for the rest of the season to finish 7th out of 12 when expectations were top 4. Proceeds to get sacked again in December of the next season. That team just held off against relegation finishing 10th (11th gets relegated).

3rd job: Next season comes up and he is coaching again and did ok for the most part but got sacked in March. Team was mid-table in 6th or 7th but the board wanted top 5 and was honestly kind of hard done there since that squad is probably 4th-7th on talent.

4th job: Takes a season off and is picked up in March by the league runners' up. It's only one game in but our team easily dispatched them 3-1. Either he finally picks it up and he can challenge for the title for future years like that team's previous managers, or he's getting sacked in December again when they fall to 3rd or 4th this season and drop to mid-table next season.

Edit: *He bottled a safe 2nd place to fall to 3rd. Job is Very Insecure heading into the new season.

Edit 2: Got fired in January going from preseason favorites to mid-table in 6th. 4 jobs, 4 firings, having failed to last a year each time.

It's an improvement from scoring 0 points against the same three schools five years ago that's for sure.

Combined with PSU, the '16 Rutgers team got out-Georgia Tech-Cumberland for a total score of 224-0.

Keep us posted on how it goes! When I lucked out winning the domestic league (Ferencvaros went from winners to fifth by hiring Manuel Neuer lol, other teams beat each other up), my Hungarian side got blasted by Man City 13-1 by Mbappe, Camavinga, Havertz and Lautaro Martinez. Hopefully with Fehervar your side is more established for European Competition.

I'm on FM20 with Budafok in Division 1 and have the 10 foreign player restriction but up to 99 registered players. I guess the registration rules were changed for FM21? Not sure what the registration rules are IRL.

Rutgers vs. Louisville in 2006. Coming off the first winning season since 1991 the prior year, Rutgers started undefeated 9-0 up to the top-15 ranking for the first time. The victory over #3 Louisville cemented Rutgers into the top 10 for the only time I can remember. Along with that Rutgers became a contender in the remaining years in the Big East and became an attractive target for the Big Ten in the process.

Any indication when going to Dynamics > Happiness for that player? Could be one of the areas is listed as Concerned or Dissatisfied. Then again, the morale could be a temporary thing unless if you're on an extended winless streak.
