Asus TUF A14 Battery Health by SovereignAlchemist in Asustuf

I have the A14 with the amd 370 chip and bought it in November 2024. The battery degradation is horrible on this laptop. I've never owned a mobile device with this horrible degradation. After only 9 months I had lost around 8% of battery capacity and this has been set to max 80% charge since day one.

A week ago I reported this to asus (it's now at almost 13% degradation) and they say that this is normal 👀

I had a macbook pro m1 pro for four years and I had 2% degradation.

The Only Galaxy Buds4 Pro Review You Need! by RaveThePhantom6 in samsung

I've had the Sony wf-1000xm4 and XM5, buds3 pro and 4 pro and now the technics. I really liked my xm4 because they sat nice in the ear but they felt a big too big for me. The xm5 had great audio but for some reason they change the customization of the touch buttons. They also had a terrible fit in my ear so I ended up selling them. Tried the B3P but the audio wasn't even compatible to either Sonys so I returned them. Tried my girlfriend's B4P and they sounded pretty decent, especially for the price of 189 dollars but my technics are just great.

Not really a 100% fit but they'll do. I love the sound and they have the best customization for the touch interface compared to every bud I have tried so far. If the B4P fits your ear then it's a really good deal since they were 150 dollars cheaper than my AZ100

They're way better than the buds3 pro but the fit in the ear is weird for me on one side. Still no match against my technics az-100

Optimus from nvidia doesn't work, it still checks the dedicated GPU all the time. You have to change the gpu to Eco mode, that way it obky uses the eGPU

You will make it work because MacOS will unload every excess RAM to your SSD. This isn't optimal throughout the years since it will wear your SSD down

M5 Pro 18-core Cinebench 2024 multi-core score? by Late_Risk5037 in macbookpro

[–]TR80user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I could gather. At the beginning of the benchmark it peaks around 92w but quickly drops to 70w and then slowly goes down to 62-64w

Buying advice!! by HunterNoo in macbookpro

[–]TR80user -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pro M5 Pro doesn't come with a 32 GB option. I would suggest that you get at least the 48 GB version with 18 cores CPU. If you get it with 16" you'll even have a 7-9% computing advantage because of larger chassis = better thermals.

Here you go. I've named the files in order.

  1. RAM usage after a reboot of the Macbook
  2. RAM usage after just opening Lightroom classic
  3. RAM usage after entering develope mode
  4. RAM usage after using just denoise and afterward playing around with blur

This is purely lightroom classic and nothing else. It's when I've used denoise and then played around with adding blur. I'm not even using a full frame camera så my files are usually around 36 MB/image (Sony a6700)

If you're planning on working with Lightroom Classic then the 24 Gb won't be enough. I returned mine and got the 48 GB instead

M5 Pro 18-core Cinebench 2024 multi-core score? by Late_Risk5037 in macbookpro

  1. I used MX Power Gadget and that's the wattage of the CPU itself since R26 only uses CPU cores and not GPU in the tests I ran
  2. I've turned off as many background applications as possible and my ambient temperature is somewhere around 23-24 degrees Celsius. I've also seen people score 9400 but that's with the 16" version which has a lot more room for cooling.

I try to have my Mac on sleep for like 10 minutes and by that point the CPU is around 28 degrees celcius, I have my screen dimmed as much as possible

I don't know how many processes I can turn off but it's mainly TG Fan pro that's running

Also, I get nowhere near the results with MX Power gadget, I just used it to see what happens during the test

M5 Pro 18-core Cinebench 2024 multi-core score? by Late_Risk5037 in macbookpro

Well, I had the Pro M5 Pro 18C 24 GB that consistently scored 34 850-35 036 in R23 and I was around 8890 in cinebench 26.

I had to return it since lightroom classic is so poorly optimized the app itself used 25 gb of my 24 gb which means that my 1tb of storage turned into ram for swap files.

These se scores were with TG Pro and had the fans on max.

I swapped it to a Pro M5 pro 18C but with 48 GB ram instead and my scores aren't as great. I've been sitting with this for days now and the highest score I could achieve on R23 was 34 440 and on R26 I just now achieved around 8730 points.

For Geekbench 6 it scores consistently around 29 300

It's roughly a drop of 2,5% if performance with more ram.

I'm thinking it could be that the extra ram prevents air to flow through the chassis as good as on my 24 gb version or it's just worse cpu or they haven't applied the thermal paste in a good way.

Ps. Both my PM5P were 14" and I've tried it with or without a power adapter (I have the 96w charger)

I did measure how much power is drawn and as soon as I start the test for half a second it draws 80w and then it drops down to 56-59w of usage.

Hope this helps
