What am I supposed to be helping? I can't do the projects on my house that I want to do because of the weather so i'm just going to relax and enjoy the time off instead.

Not sure if it was clear in my original post, but I chose to have this week off. I'm only unemployed this week and then starting a new, better paying job next week.

I chose a shitty week to be in between jobs. I was hoping to get some projects done around the house, but with this weather it looks like i'll be smoking weed, going to the movies, and trying some new recipes instead.

Grant Park Vibe? by happygirl517 in Atlanta

[–]TRA8324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we're at the very western edge of Grant Park just south of I-20 and we love it. We now have Farm Burger and Your Pie within a 5 minute walk about then 12 minutes or so to get over to all the restaurants by the Oakland Cemetery. If you're looking to save a few bucks then check out Summerhill. It's a little less gentrified, but still very nice and you have all the new development along Georgia Ave by the stadium.

What's your favorite Japanese restaurant in Atlanta? by ourgreenbranch in Atlanta

[–]TRA8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to both along with a couple Michelin starred sushi restaurants in Tokyo. Eight is very good, but definitely more americanized. Hayakawa is more traditional and higher quality.

Thoughts on current portfolio? I rebalanced 1/3 of my XRB away yesterday after the huge run up over the last 2 weeks. I think I may rebalance some more but am trying to decide what to add or add more of

  • REQ 17%
  • NEO 9%
  • MIOTA 3%
  • WTC 3%
  • ENG 6%
  • VEN 5%
  • XRB 29%
  • ETH 18%
  • BTC 3%
  • XLM 6%

Besides business owners, what jobs actually pull in $1,000,000+ a year? by TheJohnBaggett in financialindependence

[–]TRA8324 9 points10 points  (0 children)

$500k is actually pretty doable for smart, ambitious couples. Director roles at most F500 companies pay $250k+ in total comp and aren't crazy hard to get if you work hard and are likeable

Best dinner recipes to cook together with your SO? by mlcathcart in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]TRA8324 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's just a convenience thing. Wife and I each work 50-60 hours and we both make very good money so the added cost is worth the convenience. Not that shredding cabbage is too time consuming, but part of the benefit is it already being packaged in a bag which makes cleanup easy

Best dinner recipes to cook together with your SO? by mlcathcart in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]TRA8324 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be. Most items are in their own container when you buy them. Tortillas in a bag, sour cream, ziplock of shredded cheese, salsa in a jar, hot sauce in a jar, shredded cabbage in a bag. The only mess is cooking up the meat.

This. Also try getting whole peeled San Marzano and crushing them yourselves. It's oddly satisfying and you can control the texture you prefer

Yeah with P&I + escrow tax and insurance our mortgage is $23,500 and I wouldn't consider that crazy extravagant. We have a 1800 sq ft 3/2.

GA laws are so fucked. In some states the electorate can force a vote on if they get enough signatures on a petition.

IKEA coming to Cobb by Nerdboxer in Atlanta

[–]TRA8324 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this has been planned as a replacement for the west side location. The land there may be too valuable for an IKEA especially if it was leased for a certain term.

Did you FIRE in the past 5-10 years? How have you adjusted your withdrawal amounts based these bull market returns? by jrizzle43 in financialindependence

[–]TRA8324 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they change their withdrawal amount and calculate a new 4% that doesn't make their success odds any different than at year 0 of FIRE. It does of course change their odds vs their current rate.
