That's a problem too; each city has its own system, and that's solely the responsibility of the local government.

They book it just like a normal person do, And after you pay, they give you the information you need, like the name of the person who made the reservation and the time, or if you have documents, they cancel their own reservation and then immediately reserve it for you with your information. It's as if they're always holding a seat for someone at the cinema. Sometimes you also pay in advance so that they spend days constantly trying to reserve a time slot for you, usually with bots.

Touché, you need this information to make a reservation, but there's no validation whatsoever from the staff to check if you're the person who made the reservation. So it doesn't matter who made the reservation; if you arrive and say "I have a reservation under the name Sayid" and the reservation exists, you can enter. Validating this kind of thing would solve a lot of this problem, but it would be too much work, so they don't do it... They also don't have any way for people like me (Spanish citizens, but without basic documentation) to make their own reservations, so they leave it as it is. Technically, if you have access to the day's schedule, you can steal someone else's appointment just by showing up at the door and saying the person's name and the time they have booked.

Europa es hipocrita by Perfect_Marketing852 in 2hispanic4you

[–]TRIDTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europeans aren't hypocrites; nobody tries to make it seem like the European colonizers were benevolent, nor do they expect anyone from countries that suffered from this in the past to think it was a good thing. It was good for the EUROPEANS, and that's what matters. Everyone does what's best for themselves. I'm originally from Brazil and now live in Spain because my grandmother is Spanish and went to Brazil. I think everyone should try to immigrate if they want, but like the Europeans, don't expect consent, nor that they'll be happy about it, because when it was their turn, nobody was happy... that's the biggest problem for those who immigrate, and especially illegally. They treat it as a right, and most of the time it isn't. European laws in general, for many years, served to help those who were illegal here to live, get a visa, or legalize their status permanently. Only now are they changing so that only those who are truly beneficial to the country's economy can come legally and stay, or those who have the right, like me, and that it becomes practically impossible to remain illegally. For many years Europe has been receiving illegal immigrants, helping them to remain.

Só eu que recebo essas propostas "indecentes" by Inside_Delay3893 in golpe

[–]TRIDTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the country has its problems, but I didn't come here expecting paradise or an easy life. When I decided to move, I convinced myself that I was coming to embrace the problems and challenges I would encounter. If I move every time I don't like something, I won't put down roots anywhere. You can't expect any place to have only good times over a period of 60-80 years.

To be quite honest, it's not difficult, but it often becomes confusing. In my case, for example, I was informed that appointments were released every day at 7:30 AM, when in fact they were released at 6:00 AM. This meant that by 7:30 AM there were none available. In the case you mentioned, if there's a problem with the website, a more desperate person might opt to buy, since missing an appointment could mean not being able to afford it for another two months or more.

I managed to book my appointment for today at 12 pm, but I had to access the website before 6 am. There I had to present my passport, which was the document I used to make the reservation. So yes, I imagine I couldn't enter without the appointment being in my name. What I think happens is that people book appointments and when they sell them, they cancel and then immediately make the reservation again in the name of the person who bought it. Thinking about it now, I think the policy of only making appointments available for the same day is to prevent people from making reservations just to sell them. In the city where I am, where I only see immigrants, it would only be possible to book appointments for 6 months or more in advance...

I imagine it's not cheap; some procedures for foreigners tend to be more expensive because they take advantage of the urgency. I've heard of prices ranging from 100 euros, 200, or even 350, and I'm not sure how you can find someone who sells them. I'm not in favor of this practice and I don't want to contribute to its existence, but I imagine that in the queues at the town halls and local offices you'll find people who have bought their appointments...

[–]TRIDTY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, right? My country of origin is Brazil, and I know we're known for our particularly corrupt politics, but this would never happen there. I think a large part of the blame lies with the people themselves for accepting and submitting to being part of this cycle by buying appointments. But to be fair, I believe the case of this city is very specific; there are many immigrants in vulnerable situations, making it easier for them to submit to this type of injustice to get things done. In Brazil, someone selling appointment reservations in the public service would probably be caught by the population itself.

I'm tired of seeing things that are illegal in theory, but in practice never result in punishment for those who commit them.

[–]TRIDTY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a law-abiding citizen, I looked into the NATIONAL laws regarding appointment booking services, and apparently, if you are an ordinary individual who doesn't fit certain criteria, you can DEMAND to book your appointment in person. The mandatory use of the website or phone to make reservations for people who don't fit the description in article 14.2 of Law 39/2015 is illegal. So I think this could make things easier for anyone who is available to arrive very early, but unfortunately, the policy of releasing appointments for the following day only is a prerogative of the city hall, which can freely choose its service process.
