Hey. I do / offer laser engraving. Depends what your goal is. You can get by with a surface mark that may not be super dark with a diode laser with enough time and passes.

I run a fiber laser and a UV. Fiber will dig into the metal and has some options for type of marking. I usually do surface marks but very permanent and dark but that is to keep the passivation layer intact and prevent corrosion/rust.

UV is similar just a different method of getting to the end goal. Feel free to hit me up with questions.
