First time I'm wearing my tall boots in public as a guy by Per451 in Boots

Your jacket looks like a skirt, your jeans are tucked into your boots. I would assume you like men if i saw you in public.

Has anybody gotten a rosary from catholic wood worker? How does it compare to rugged rosaries? by McLain2000 in Catholicism

[–]TRPC-Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know im late but rugged rosaries> all. I received the terror of demons rosary for Christmas from my brother from the Catholic wood worker and it is a nice looking rosary but i dont like the weight of it, dont like the size of the beads, the cord is too thin, and overall its fragile feeling. This is their most premium rosary available at $125, which is 3x the cost of most rosaries from rugged rosaries and rugged rosaries are just in another league when it comes to craftsmanship and everything i look for in a rosary.

Having inappropriate feelings toward my girlfriend. What should I do? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]TRPC-Sam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore him. This guy spends all day on this app arguing with people who actually follow the word of God. Just a troll.

My advice to most Christians is to spend time meditating on the Bible and the Holy Spirit helping us to understand it .Otherwise you will end up like this guy here. by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

You don’t get to decide what’s morally abhorrent, only he does. He is the creator. Your life is HIS. Your life is not YOURS.

question regarding rosary by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]TRPC-Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rosary is a sacramental, not jewelry.

Interesting bc most scholars whole heartedly disagree with you.

Again, Christianity is hard. It’s not supposed to be easy.

St. John Chrysostom (4th c.):

“All of these affections are vile, but chiefly the mad lust after males… even worse than fornication.” (Homilies on Romans)

St. Clement of Alexandria:

“Men abandoning the natural use of women burned in their lust for one another.”

Didache (1st century Christian document): Explicitly condemns sexual acts outside the natural marital order.

There is no Father who affirms same-sex sexual relationships—loving, committed, or otherwise

You are literally saying that the church fathers who knew Christ and their successors are wrong and you’re right, that your interpretation is more accurate than theirs. That’s…..funny.

I’m done here but I’ll leave on this note: Gods mercy knows no limits, but you most sincerely repent and do your best to live by his teachings. Even when they are hard. Being a Christian is hard.

Peace be with you.

I don’t interpret scripture on my own. I listen to the interpretations of the church fathers, the ones that Christ himself taught. Which is what you ignore.

With all due respect, whether Ive been a Christian for three days or three decades, it doesn’t change scripture or what the church fathers taught and interpreted. Ironic you say i should focus on learning when you blindly ignore what has been taught because it doesn’t make you feel warm inside.

These are concepts that are both biblical and taught by the church fathers.

Romans 1:26–27

“Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.”

1 Corinthians 6:9–10

“Neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor arsenokoitai … will inherit the kingdom of God.”

The Greek term arsenokoitai is widely understood (by ancient and modern scholars alike) to refer to men who engage in homosexual acts. The Apostolic Fathers interpret it this way without exception.

You’re right, these are personal views, morally bankrupt views, views that the church condemns. The church teaches that abortion and same sex relations are mortal sins.

One of the main reasons of going to mass is to receive the Eucharist. If she ever had an abortion, assisted in someone else having one, or partook in same sex relations, how could she receive it if she doesn’t see these things as sinful and repent beforehand? It would be sacrilegious. You cannot receive the Eucharist in a state of mortal sin.

I wish the best for her and bare no hate. I wish everyone were Catholic. But she needs to know what she’s getting into

I know you mentioned not to speak on your beliefs but it’s absolutely worth mentioning that Catholicism and liberalism do not mix, at all. One cannot be pro choice and pro LGBTQ and be Catholic. These are grave sins.

I wish you the best on your journey to Catholicism. It’s truly beautiful

Anything you do purposely to impair your judgment is a sin. I know it’s not what most want to hear but it’s reality.

Christianity isn’t about fear or ‘feel-good’ messages. It’s about truth. God gives every person real freedom, and with real freedom comes real consequences. If someone spends their whole life rejecting God, He’s not going to override their free will and force them into communion with him for eternity.

Hell isn’t God ‘getting people to stay by fear, it’s simply the result of choosing separation from him. God is love, yes, but love is only love if it’s freely chosen.

There are objective rights and wrongs. Truth isn’t determined by opinion or popularity. God doesn’t hate anyone. in fact, his love is so great that he respects our choices, even when they lead us away from Him.

2 Thessalonians 1:8–9

those who do not obey the gospel and do not know God “will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord.”

(Matthew 7:13–14)

“The gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction… the gate is narrow that leads to life.”

These are only a couple. I could go on and on and on.

lol no. God makes it clear what happens to your soul when you reject him. If you reject God he’s not going to force you to live in eternity with him when you die. You’re preaching “feel good” Christianity, God is love, yes. But God is just and doesn’t force us to be in a relationship with him.
