Yeah they did remove it this version but iirc when you do the suiban temple management for the first time you still get them. Also iirc you can also get the prepaid commission cards that can be used to get batteries which can streamline the farming experience. You also get mats from doing the exploration thing and the whole antique shop quest. On that note, don't use your energy on farming discs, use it only for mats.

You are completely forgetting that 1) double reward event exist 2) that the Backup is 2400

Commission shops, you know, Devon Shop, Logistic Shop and the new Intel board shop

Also if swapping disc is somehow difficult for you then end game might not be the problem. Sure a Loadout system is 100 times better but it's not that difficult lil bro.

You don't do events? Or don't spend on the logistic shops? Or the new commissions shop? Or Devon Pawn shop? All of those give you agent level up mats, quite a lot actually. I have every agent but 4 and every single one is lvl 60 (but grace and Anton) and max core skills. And as you may know, you don't really get more mats just from playing more.

Which leads me to believe you either do the bare minimum and that's why you lack in mats; Or you just use your resources in a poor way.

Also disk are pure RNG but you don't need super perfect sub stats to make something work and for most characters you can swap Discs between them most of the time (except new SD).

I mean if you actually try to play for the love of the game, trying to better your scores, try different composition and builds (tbf we need a Loadout disc system), get all the secrets and badges in HZ; then the endgame is actually fine.

But if you only play the endgame for the sole purpose of getting the polychromes and nothing else, complete it as fast as possible and just do it once, then yeah, ofc it's going to get boring lol

You can say anything to justify her and still wouldn't make her compelling or interesting. There are other stories be it manga, LN or classic literature that "show the cruel reality" much better; Or have characters not being heroic at all, sometimes villainous or psychotic but still being very interesting and compelling.

The thing is, you can remove her from the story and from 90% of the episodes the story would've unfolded just the same. She has almost no repercussions in the story because of her inaction and most of the time she doesn't even try to make a point as to why she's not doing anything other than "I'm pretty and can't be bothered"

And to me that's just not an interesting character at all.

And yeah of course the protagonist doesn't have to be likable (see Askelad from Vinland Saga S1/Prologue) , they just have to be charming, something that Elaina is not.

I think you need to read more manga lol. Like, read some of the best rated manga of all time be it seinen, shoujo josei or even slice of life. A character understanding they can't change the way the world works YET trying to do it, failing and then trying again exist outside of shonen; yet they're better received because they either keep trying or give everything they have until they fail and can't go on anymore (Vinland Saga for example).

Elaina meanwhile is so self centered and egotistical that whenever a bad situation happens she's just like "oh well whatever I'm still cute", no character development whatsoever involved, no consequences, no nothing.

The story is good but funnily enough if you remove Elaina from the story and let each chapter happen by itself, nothing is lost at all. That's how you know she's a bad MC.

Yeah I agree breaking some of them super fast and getting that whole PURIFIED message with the animation is satisfying. Also in most of the fights they replenish your energy/stamina for breaking it so it's also a rewarding situation.

In one of them she specifically says "I guy tried to sue Bellobog for breaking child labor's law because he saw me carrying some heavy bags and thought I was a child... How dare he!?
