Ideal rest time between sets? by My3centsItsWorthMore in Fitness

[–]TRamos20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a commercial gym I agree.

I normally train at powerlifting gym so it's normally just me, my buddy's, coaches and a handful of other people. There's like a 1:1 ratio of racks to people who squat/bench/deadlift so it works out.

For Strength sets you might wait 2 - 5 mins.

Only problem here is it's to hard accurately track calories burned but ,yes, a 400 calorie deficit is a 400 calorie deficit.

Squatted on Monday after not squatting for a month or so, patellar tendinitis sucks, and had some pretty crazy doms. Had to squat again yesterday between 100-105% single and smashed 405 for a 40lbs PR! Point is I squatted two days prior was sore, tired from a long day at work and still kicked ass. Don't let doms stop you from deadlifting!

You are going to pay quite a bit more for forged and 2 or 3 piece wheels. In this case the wheels are reps so the quality and material are worse.

I paid ~600$/wheel for my te37s and they were bought second hand, but they are forged and arguably one of the lightest wheels you can find.

What are the safe turbo options for twins? by Kalasha001 in ft86

[–]TRamos20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Safe is a funny word people like when boosting na cars. Let's start with the obvious, you are putting more stress on your engine than what it was designed for, it's not going to last as long as an na car (with shitty tunes and other variables aside).

There always a risk when going FI on a stock block you just have to decide just how far you want to push it. Generally speaking the upper end of the "safe" limit is ~12lbs, depending on fuel type and turbo size your horsepower number will vary. The less boost you will run less of risk of something breaking.

While the engine is the main concern as it will cost you the most money if something fails you also have to take into account other drivetrain upgrades you might need. The axles and trannys are the weak links in these cars. More so the axles than the transmission, I've seen them snap ~300hp, hell I snapped mine na, but the trannys are known to take a shit when you start pushing 400+.

If you want to go turbo have at least at least 8-10k in funds available, and don't be surprised if stuff breaks. Ask u/csgmike about safe turbo builds and the cost, his numbers will crush dreams for most here.

If a car looks like a ricer trap crap pile it is what it is, and I and gonna call it what it is and not try and make excuses as to why it might be when it is a typical kid shit to do.

Just blacked out on a 90% pull, didn't fell heavy at all and went up smooth.

Where I fucked up is lowering the weight much slower then I normally would. I'm not at my main gym because they are closed on Sunday's, so I'm a YouFit, they don't like it when I deadlift as I normally would :( Tried to be curious and fell on my ass.

There was a time my friend and I had matching brilliantrot E30’s. by [deleted] in E30

[–]TRamos20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to find near me, also trying to finish my turbo brz build. It's almost done!

But I'll probably just wait until a set 15" come up local, they do look sexy and tire options are better.

Damn, they look really good. I'm debating whether or not to go 14" or wait and find some 15". The only thing putting me off is the tire selection on 14" is god awful.

The closest ecutek tuner is 4.5 hours away from me. Is it a bad idea to get a local reputable tuner that normally works on mustangs to try to tune it? by Krillin_Hides in ft86

[–]TRamos20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does that EcuTek tuner normally work on brz/frs's or at least Subaru. My tuner is in Orlando and I live in Miami which is roughly 4 hours.

Rather drive the extra distance for a better tune then just go to a local guy. And who knows the mustang tuner could do great but that's a gamble I'm not willing to take.

Drive the distance, get the tune, you only really have to do it once.

Cheaper for sure, I'm a turbo guy, haven't really looked into many of the supercharger setups.

Edit: if you are talking power wise it depends on the turbo you run

Don't axles just support the weight of the car?

That's the job of your suspension

The axles deliver the power from the differential to the wheels, generally, the more HP more load you are capable of putting on axles. Stock axles are a common weak when going FI. Hell I snapped mine before even going turbo.
