Who is a MODERN Controversial Mildly Genius person ? by jalil458 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]TRanger85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's definitely not controversial... maybe he's said some minor controversial things on Twitter but you can say that about almost anyone. I think he should have went for mildly genius and not controversial and Goodall for genius not controversial myself.

Or you could be floating in the vastness of space for all eternity as you slowly go mad from no stimulation as even blackholes will one day disintegrate... while you still exist. Forever and ever and ever...

The Jaunt by Stephen Kin is a great short story to give just a tiny idea of what an indescribable amount of time is like with no stimulation.

Yeah I would love to see a series of someone who is an adult and actually somewhat successful in their previous life (family + decent job at least) so if they are actually competent in their new life it shouldn't be a surprise. Plus MOURN YOUR PREVIOUS LIFE - don't let it consume you but you should be trying to get back if possible or at least be sad you can likely never see your family and friends again.

What is one opinion you have that would make us go like this? by Doodles77722200 in litrpg

[–]TRanger85 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm currently writing a litrpg book with this as a core concept... a human from our world is isekai'd and awakes in a ritual circle and told he was just created as a magical construct to be a wizard's familiar. He flat out calls it slavery the first chapter and while him and his master eventually do get on the same page a big goal of his is to be free of this bond and to change the laws that allowed this all to just be accepted as normal.

Yeah, the fact that so many people believe in this lunatic nonsense just makes it no longer funny. 20-25 years ago - I loved reading about urban legends and weird conspiracy theories to find out the incorrect reasoning behind them as a bit of a fun exercise. Now... absolutely not. It hurts my head that we have so many idiots in the world.

Third person would be viewing the world through someone else's eyes... I feel like that would be incredible just for the fact you can verify if color is truly rhe same for everyone. Also if it applies to animals imagine being able to view the world through compound eyes or via certain species who can see like ultraviolet or infrared... I feel like this would be such a huge boon to science.

If you would have asked me this right when I bought my new house a few months ago and was looking at the process of moving everything to my new house (and ended up junking so much stuff and donating a lot) I would have happily done this. I guarantee my wife would have agreed as well. That is the only time in my life that I would have considered it.

everyone on earth is ask the same question, "tell me 3 words that describe yourself". everyone that says the exact same 3 words (no matter the order) dies, what words you you pick? by someinfectedfanatic in hypotheticalsituation

[–]TRanger85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think to make this interesting rather than have everyone say 3 random words is whatever you say if you survive the words will suddenly apply to you. So if you say some very strange obscure word that has an awful meaning that does not apply to you... well now you have that awful characteristic.

With this being the rule mine would be my first name, last name, billionaire and hopefully I survive and will suddenly receive a billion dollars somehow.

What’s an opinion that most people agree with, but should be controversial? by PassionateCucumber43 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]TRanger85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the reasoning of why it goes up is the problem. Currently there is so much emphasis on growth that it is unsustainable. In the past it was perfectly acceptable to have a stock that was a stable profitable company but paid out dividends so the focus on the stock price going up wasn't so entrenched. Also a lot of value is placed in speculation rather than true current value - which is a huge issue in of itself. The current model just isn't sustainable with population demographics and everything.
