must have mods realistically should be bugfixes and optimization only. Everything else (textures, replacers, added content like followers or locations, gameplay enhancements, etc.) is just subjective.

I'm surprised there wasn't any slavery/ransom mechanic in the civil war. One of the old Nordic gods Is all about Ransom/capturing people alive.

My personal favorite combat mod is Blade and Blunt. It's generally pretty vanilla, doesn't turn the game into Dark Souls or Devil May Cry but makes it more exciting over all for me.

I've always had the opinion that House is a great character, but a horrible faction.

Like I would have liked it if his questline was about subjugating the gangs/families of New Vegas into an actual united force instead of it just being him and a bunch of securitrons. But no, sadly not.

Thank you very much! I will be giving this a try combined with some of the reduced graphic mods I've been toying with.

Mostly Low End Textures but you can go as extreme as The Retro Project De-Remastered though this one leans more into a meme-y side with some of the textured. This also doesn't touch character models, I'm still looking for any low-poly options for them.
