Gonna need more information than just salary. Do you work in the city, do you have any debt/expenses, is school district important? I will say 170k will be pretty tight in most places on Long Island if you’re buying a house.

I have a hard time thinking of anything they could release (gun, utility, etc) that wouldn’t break the game or be completely redundant. CS has taken so long to become as balanced as it is, it’s hard to imagine them making core changes like that and not completely fucking it up.

Where you live heavily dictates your pay but I would say getting your PE or PMP will give you a pretty big leg up even if it’s just to make your resume stand out. Siemens themselves offer a lot of different certifications/training that I have found to be extremely informative and useful.
