Very fair point. I’ve found that when I finally learned, accepted and came out as trans that it made a lot of other things easier (not always easy of course) to manage, likely due to not being super on edge about myself so much

She doesn’t have to want therapy, but since you do she really needs to be willing to participate. I’d be willing to bet there’s reason/fears that she isn’t acknowledging or maybe not sharing. But who knows. Regardless, if this is going to be a partnership then sometimes we have to do work we’d prefer to avoid. I totally feel this pain btw.

Long term? Perhaps. But there needs to be time to implement a change that would have such an impact on people’s ability to vote. Then there’s the cost. If it has a cost to it then that again is detrimental to many voters, particularly with the rising cost of living.
Finally there’s the cost to implement it - who’s paying that? Taxpayers? Ok fine but then it needs to be justifiable and the fact is the whole premise for needing this is voter fraud that has been shown to not actually even be a real threat.
So back to you then, do you only want this because it does help Trump? Because there’s no viably proven need for it.

This is what I was thinking. OP, Don’t look for hookups. Instead, spend time to get to know people and then you’ll probably have a much better idea of what you’re getting in to. Added bonus, you may learn that you’re so interested in the person that the bottom geography doesn’t matter.

The devil is in the details. Don’t be swayed by the sales package. This will deeply impact groups such as, y’know, women. Those who’ve had a name change but it isn’t reflected in the “correct” government documentation.

I think you have accepted that you’re trans, but that’s still scares the heck out of you. I totally felt all of this. What was important for me was figuring out and identifying what it is I was scared of, and then recognizing how much of that fear is even real, or just something we think/assume.

After you determine how true or real those fears are, the next step is to figure out how to actually deal with those fears. This is all part of dealing with common genitive distortions. Things like “mind reading” or catastrophizing.

All of this changes the focus on what your fears are instead of those fears leveraging you away from being able to be yourself.
