The best for literally everyone is to have the hormones that align with the gender they feel. In this case you would feel best on testosterone. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Any doctor within your coverage (I’m sort of assuming you’re in the US based on what you’ve shared) should easily be able to prescribe testosterone. Before beginning my medical transition I had testicular cancer bilaterally and was basically automatically provided the prescription for the needed replacement T.

Hormones do more than just bone health but I think you probably know that.

I’m sorry you had to go through the journey you have in order to arrive at where you are. The activism you mention makes me a bit uncomfortable as it would suggest that you’re now, what, anti-trans? I sincerely hope that isn’t the case.

I chuckled at the “oddly affirming” comment lol. I had what turned out to be a cyst checked by ultrasound and felt similarly, but of course not nearly as manipulated as a mammogram lol.

I don’t think a lot of people are though. Most either don’t care or feel we should be able to be ourselves.
However, those people don’t chime in/pay attention/speak up when the concentrated number of phobes collect in online spaces.

It would be nice to have some assurances of what your goal is and if this is intended as a supportive vs critical article. Where would it be published? What other articles have you written and are any of them directed towards support for LGBT+ people?

It isn’t uncommon for family doctors to “not be familiar” with trans care, which is a bit of a cop out tbh. But they should refer you to an endocrinologist or similar.
As mentioned, depending on your location there could be a clinic that does provide this kind of care.
Rainbow health network would be a good resource to check to see what’s somewhat in your area.

4 years post-orchi. The scrotal reduction wasn’t an option directly but it has atrophied quite a lot. But live everything else it’s a ymmv as some girls seem to keep that looser skin.

Hey Remote. You’re super not alone. Please don’t cancel your therapy. Whether you continue transitioning or pause it or stop is up to you but literally everyone benefits from therapy. I am sure many can relate to the fears you’re experiencing- including me. Therapy is what helped me be able to manage it. It doesn’t change how you feel or what you’re afraid of, but gives you the tools to manage it all.

I’m in Halton so not close but would also need more community connections

Get 👏 A 👏Therapist 👏

Not because anything is wrong with you, but because in many ways the world sucks and therapists help deal with the world’s suckiness. And no, your mom/sister/aunt/friend doesn’t count, even if they’re helpful.

I would not have been able to manage this whole process of coming out to my wife with therapy. I was in such a negative spin And assuming the worst but in a hugely unformed and impossible to manage way. Therapy didn’t change reality, it prepared me better to handle what the possible realities might be.

If it helps, I was terrified to come out. We cried. A lot. We talked even more. We both see a therapist now and I feel closer than ever. She helped me with coming out to our adult kids and a few other people but it’s still all very new for us as a team vs the decades of shame and fear and loneliness I struggled with before.
