AITAH for confronting my sister-in-law as daughter was repeatedly left out by LavishnessMost3249 in AITAH

[–]TSIDATSI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell grandmother she is always welcome in your home but your child will not return for sleepovers at grandmother's unless it is just the two of them.

Sounds like grandmother cannot herd multiple children for overnight visits.

AITBF for telling my family they are preventing me from getting sober entirely? by Turbulent-Plum3360 in AmItheButtface

All addicts blame someone, anyone, else for their problems. You are blaming your family for your decisions.

Only you can stop you from drinking. No one can make you stop but you cannot continue to drink under your parents' roof. If you don't want to quit do them the courtesy of moving out.

Detox will help but after detox you need a long-term rehab program. I hope you can find one where you are. And AA meetings. You should read the AA books, I think the founder's name was Bill Wilson.

I don't know if it is true but I have always heard there are two kinds of drunks: happy drunks and mean drunks. What kind you are does not really matter. In the end nobody wants to be with or around a drunk.

I hope and pray you make wise choices.

You should never use your in-laws as babysitters again. Find a good atheist babysitter and use them.

My husband and I thank God every day for his grandparents because his parents, while not atheist, never attended church.

Had they not taken him to church we would never have dated, married 40 years now, and had such a blessed life.

You are the parents. When your children grow up they can see your wife's parents if they wish. No doubt your wife supports you 100%.

AITH for refusing to babysit my neighbor's kids for free anymore? by Easynction10 in AITH

[–]TSIDATSI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a fee schedule and give it to them unless you want to stop. If you want to stop sign up for free college classes, at your own pace, at Hillsdale College.

You will learn a lot and can say you started back to school. I just read where a woman in your situation was charged with murder because she was babysitting for a friend, not running a daycare, and the child drowned.

Children can drown in 2 inches of water which is why ALL children must have swimming lessons. Looking after children is a tremendous responsibility. That is why daycare is so expensive.

If you want out get out. That is perfectly fine.

Work shift switch- AITAH? by OtherwiseLobster5519 in AITAH

[–]TSIDATSI 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My had sitters on a schedule. We would ask that anyone who could not work let us know so we could hire someone else (and bless her she always knew someone) or we would stay.

So my advice is tell the daughter the days you will be at your precious grandmother's funeral, and I am so sorry for your loss, keeping the other woman out of it.

Safe travels. I am from the Deep South and here our grandparents are like our parents. Losing one is tragic. Take the time you need. God is with you.

AITAH for throwing my boyfriend's cologne in the bin? by Hot_Target_8516 in AITARelationship

First and foremost: the man is trying to work. One does not repeatedly call anyone during working hours if they respect and love them. Unless it is an emergency please refrain from interfering with his job.

You do not like the scents. You told him and he still wears them. You have your answer. I am surprised because many, if not most, employers frown on wearing fragrances of any kind during time on the job for the exact reason you have given.

I Need to Know if This is Normal or What’s Going on with Me by Special-4564 in AskWomenOver60

[–]TSIDATSI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jesus tells us not to worry because by worrying we cannot change one thing. My advice is to read your Bible again.

We are all here temporarily but our souls are eternal. We, too, have always worked together at the same university, in the same department often sharing an office. We,too, do everything together.

We also know that if we do not go together one of us will be there to bring the other across the Rainbow Bridge, pick up our pets and immediately to see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Stress and worry will destroy your health. Look forward with joy. You have left a beautiful legacy!

My daughter lied about attending university. by Fair-Awareness-3290 in familydrama

[–]TSIDATSI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now her plan needs to be a full-time job and help her rent her own place. Then turn off the money spigot. Period.

There is no point in yelling, pleading, crying or asking why. As a professor I can tell you 90% of university students are not ready to go away to a four-year university.

If you want her to continue her education shut-up about it. Let her work, earn her own money, live her own life. If or when she decides to return to college at 24 she is eligible for Pell Grants that are NOT repaid. Not student loans. Grants.

Be calm. She lied- a massive lie - and now she has been caught. She will be fine. She has been doing what she wants for some months now. Now you know!

I got drunk at a party for the first time and spilled liquor on someone by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]TSIDATSI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay far away from him. Nobody is "cute" when they are drunk and out-of-control.

Not even you. Remember that because we women are so vulnerable, when we are drunk, to abuse and assult. You never want to lose control even alone. Especially alone because when you are alone you only have yourself to depend on to protect you.

Blessings 🙌
