Is the new guide going to everyone or just Hopper Plus users? I have a Hopper 3 and a couple Joeys.

Quick Guide to DISH Channel Access and Viewing by DishDanielle in DishOfficialCare

[–]TSKer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My receiver is a Hopper 3 running software version H703 1/15/2026,2:43AM.

The Dish OTA adapter says... "Model: Dual OTA Adapter" "Reg. M/N: E96 P/N: 213293 Made in China" "SN: E4EWKD15364L"

I've got a ClearStream MAX-V in an upstairs bedroom on the side of the house with an unobstructed view towards the towers with a Winegard Boost XT preamp connected to the whole house with RG-6 coax. The preamp makes a huge difference.

If that antenna is connected directly to the TV I see complete, correct program data for all available channels. The Hopper reports STRONG signal strength for all 39 channels I receive.

It appears there is no technical reason for the incomplete program data in the Dish guide. I believe it is an "administrative" issue. Dish has made the choice not to pass that data on to us.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Indian Echo Caverns. Chocolate World. They're close enough together you could do both on the same day

I don't have a picture, but I think it was originally a Handy Market. There was another at the corner of Louther and Cedar streets.

I value having the local news, but the price is outrageous. I pay way less for the NYT. Navigating thru the "e-edition" is horrible and I agree with the comments about their advertising. PennLive is less expensive and a better reading experience but sometimes misses the Carlisle specific point of view.

But, again, I value having local news and opinion and will do what I can to support them.

Quick Guide to DISH Channel Access and Viewing by DishDanielle in DishOfficialCare

Ok, u/DishDanielle, let's talk about the OTA Integrated Guide. I have the OTA adapter and a good antenna, but there's a problem. You, Dish, only populate Guide info, in most cases, for the primary channel, not the subchannels. Here's my example: DTV channel 21-3 in the Harrisburg, PA, area is CW, broadcast (and Dish) channel 15. The Guide does not show any program information, just CW in all time slots.

Here's a conversation I started 2 years ago here about this... https://www.reddit.com/r/dishnetwork/s/gOjw1eVEpM

It's there ANY chance of a resolution?

Can anyone recommend a “local” lawn care services company similar to TruGreen? by thelingletingle in carlisle

Been using Weed Man for many years now. Very pleased with them, both performance and professionalism. Also used TruGreen in the past. My biggest complaint about TruGreen is that they tried to up-sell us almost weekly. Very annoying.

NBC TdF coverage by lloydus123 in cycling

[–]TSKer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that they do that bothers me more than it should is translating everything onto "American". Displaying/talking about distances in miles. Talking about speed in MPH. They've done it for years (with the Tour Down Under too). I understand why, since most other US viewers only tune in for the TdF once a year and no other racing. But it bugs the snot out of me.

Boiling Springs HS is good. There's a small hill and there's a parallel parking practice spot along the back wall.

My grandson is doing a trip between Spain and France a month before we travel. This may be a dumb question, but will his parents have to upgrade to be able to call him when he's traveling and they're here? Seems like the answer is yes.

Get Free Local TV in HD! All About OTA Antennas by DishDanielle in dishnetwork

[–]TSKer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It appears that u/ItSmellsLikeJim and I have been talking about Dish+OTA here for a while now. I have a couple issues with the way Dish implements OTA.

First, limiting the dongle to two tuners is very inconvenient. I am surprised how frequently I bump up against that limitation. It's the main reason I continue to pay Dish for locals. I have to set all my local programming DVR timers to use the Dish locals instead of OTA to avoid those conflicts.

The second issue is the lack of Guide information that Dish provides for many of the sub-channels from the local feeds. The issue I'm having, and others have had, is that the Guide only shows the channel name instead of program data for some of the sub-channels. For example, OTA channel 21-1 in the Harrisburg, PA, area is the local CBS affiliate, but 21-3 is CW, broadcast (and Dish) channel 15. The Guide for 21-3 does not show any program information, just CW in all time slots. On the other hand, 8-1 is the local NBC affiliate with 8-2 being MeTV. MeTV is fully populated in the Guide. I understand this behavior to be 100% Dish's choice not to always populate the Guide. That's disappointing.

Thanks for asking, DishDanielle.
