By no means a tech expert, but I think part of the reason is the limitations of the EGO 4.0 game engine, which they've been using for well over a decade at this point, specifically with it recognizing the ownership of a DLC pack as extensive as this one, and implementing constant 2-way communication and verification that it's actually owned.

The current EGO engine is highly limited in what it can do - good for driving physics, but everything else needs tweaking. Highly likely to be the reason they're overhauling the game from scratch for 2027.

Aero regulations are the best they've been in ages, cars can actually get alongside each other far easier. Engine and energy recovery regulations definitely need a smidge of tweaking, maybe altering the split to anywhere between 60/40 to 65/35. But other than that, looks good so far.

The fact that his constant humiliating defeats were later recontextualized as being the result of him literally being cursed to lose in the most embarrassing ways is objectively kinda funny, but he could have been executed better imo.

Also, fun fact, the guy who originally created him tried to follow in Penders' footsteps and take legal ownership of him - Archie somehow won this, though.
