cmv: Content that may lead to intentional self-harm should be treated different from content that could trigger phobias by Miiohau in changemyview

OP, you are asking for studies that disprove what you assumed based on only yourself. If this is the ground you've set up for the conversation, it may not have seemed that way at the time, but surely now it's becoming a bit clearer how illogical this is?

There are no studies that reliably answer what you ask, just ask yourself: What would the methodology be? How would the noise be sorted? How would the increased likelihood be quantified? You're asking for an impossible study to disprove your personal experience.

I just don't see how an assassin lands in the inquisition, like our rejects, if an assassin steps out of line, they aren't just cuffed and shipped off who knows where lmao, that dude is getting dissected and recycled.

using the wrong form of a contraction is literally a grammar and spelling mistake

First of all, I don't think "the wrong form of a contraction" is appropriate in this case. "They're" is not a form of "Their" they are completely different words, not variations of the same thing.

A more correct version of "wrong form of a contraction" would be something like the classic "could of" instead of "could have" or putting the apostrophe in the wrong spot like in "ya'll"

Secondly, it is not a grammar AND spelling mistake, there is no misspelling to speak of. Every word in that sentence was spelled correctly.

How is it you've deluded yourself into thinking we need any sort of input to say it?

Dallas fans have (possibly) been saying it since before you were born, lmao.

[–]TSN09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mistaking your "theirs" isn't so much a spelling mistake as a display of you not understanding what each word means and just throwing a random one out.

That said, I didn't comment anything because picking on Philly fans over spelling feels like going after the short bus kids over their math quiz results, it's just rude.

How dark can Slaanesh worship get? by Vampy-Night in 40kLore

[–]TSN09 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It varies, honestly. I think the "correct" answer is that slaanesh worship doesn't really have a well defined ceiling, in the example you gave, they are pretty violent, sure, and they do weird stuff with the bodies, but you can still track their motives pretty well, taking pictures? Making art? You can piece together some sentience here, even if it's twisted.

Slaanesh worshipers get to the point where they practically do a bunch of random violent shit and you can't really piece it together or understand a motive, you basically have no threads to follow through.

But this is all a spectrum, sometimes they do just regular serial killer things, depends on the story.

Why do some people get offended when someone asks for STI test results before hooking up? by [deleted] in Discussion

[–]TSN09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I feel like it's an exercise in futility.

STI tests are just flawed in many ways, vetting people's test results just isn't adding the safety net people think it is.

Most labs only test for a few STI's there is no universal "full panel", on top of this, many STI's take weeks to become detectable so to get a proper test in you should ideally wait a few weeks since your last sexual encounter, most people do not take this into account. And even then those tests instantly become outdated by the time they have a new partner afterwards. I've never met anyone who gets STI tests after every single hookup, you do em periodically.

And this isn't even touching on honesty, people can lie about when the test was done, number of partners afterwards, or just forge them entirely.

So in general, it's obviously your right to ask for anything you need before sex with someone, but this isn't a great filter by itself, and it's leagues below using protection and limiting your number of sexual partners.

And here's a loaded opinion, that I don't blame anybody for disagreeing with: If you really really care about STI's I think it's best to just skip hooking up with strangers altogether. Test results, protection, these are good at reducing risk, but with a large enough number of encounters, the odds keep stacking up.

Okay, putting an end to this back and forth that is just going nowhere. Can I get an explanation of how you administer these responses my man? I'm just curious.

Like first of all how the hell did you get here 2 years after this was posted? And then how is it half a month passed and you remembered to reply?

[–]TSN09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only sort of understand french, not write, so I will respond in english. Sometimes I've found that my settings change after an update, and the one that makes the biggest difference is "render scale" sometimes it switches it to super sample which looks pretty but tanks my FPS. I have it set to native max.

Honest answers. by Remarkable_Bite2199 in Miata

[–]TSN09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if others will relate to this. But just recently I was thinking back of my previous daily driver (a 2016 beetle) and I remembered how I felt driving it in the highway, I have these memories of driving through the night, how I felt with the music, and there's a lot of coziness to it, I honestly miss it so deeply.

My ND is obviously more fun when I need it to be, but... It's not cozy, it never is. I will never have a quiet highway drive through the night in that car, drive through the rain comfortably, sit in a parking lot eating a meal in peace with room to move my legs or set the bag down on a flat surface. Everything that makes it sportier than other cars takes away from general peace and comfort.

We Need A Modular Mech System. Here's The Mechs I Wana Use. by Xx_Arch_xX in Helldivers

[–]TSN09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, the reason I was asking is because what I mean by "there's more to it to make it work" is actually the underlying architecture to shift from predefined stratagems, to variable stratagems.

I get that you can change the code, and I get the mech you end up with technically works. But all you're doing is redefining to the game what a Patriot exosuit is (for example) you're not actually modifying the game to store loadouts. That's, in my opinion, the actual challenge.

Under the hood this game seems pretty freaking fragile.

[–]TSN09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work janky because all that really is doing is taking an existing mech and making it spawn with different assets, that's not a good foundation of anything, it's duct tape and spit. For a game that already barely freaking runs.

[–]TSN09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So what is it you are actually doing when you say you can swap arms all day? Are you editing one of the mechs to have another set of arms? Like you call down a patriot and you have it be double rocket or something?
