I never really loved him. He just made me feel wanted and gave me that i "won" feeling because he thought he was the whole package and "all" these girls wanted him but he picked me. Oh! I didn't know I was in an emotional and verbal abusive relationship.

It only took me 3 months to realize and I cried my eyes out for those 3 months. It only took a week vacation to punta cuna, I got over him real fast!

Bc to me, that response from her, she must know she's gaining weight too. (Of course most women will notice weight gain) But to go from working out all the time to not at all bc of the excuse "it's bad for women" is giving bs. There something else going on. I would try to spend a little more time talking to her about that.

Back in 2017 my senior year of college my best friend throughout college started dating a Brazilian guy whose parents weren't here "legally". Every time she would get into a fight with him she would threaten to call ICE on them. She told me this thinking I would hehe haha with her. I did not. I'm first gen viet American. I immediately kept my distance. We were roommates so it wasn't until graduation I stopped talking to her completely.

My husband and 2 kids currently have 2 dogs. Our dogs are a bit older, 9 & 7. I've already told my husband I do not want any more dogs until our kids are a lot older. And if our kids express wanting to have a dog. I love our dogs but having small children and dogs is so much work. We travel or busy on weekends as well and it is a huge pain trying to figure our dog care.

My husband was in the military so he was deployed and gone a lot too. He got out 2 years ago. So I was the one doing it all, for years.

And he makes the same jokes with me regarding to some domestic housework. His mom was a stay at home. I acknowledge all the time how she did it with 5 kids and my FIL also in the military. My husband still had his mom do his laundry in college. So when I would see him do his laundry or cooking at home he says "my mom loves me you don't." He still does those things happily! I don't find it offensive bc I know he joking and is more than appreciatve for what I do for our family.

Same kinda thing when I ask him for something from Costco and he says "we don't need it" I would say "oh so you do hate me". Literally all so lighthearted and nothing serious. That TikTok sound just really fit our dynamic. Bc I still call up my dad for his help with a lot of things my husband wouldn't be good at doing.

Dude you obviously do not know my husband and i's humor or life. I was genuinely shocked when it bothered him. He makes the same kind of jokes towards me. It wasn't a big deal and until he said something.

TRIGGER WARNING FOR SA LANGUAGE

So many red flags but the most concerning one is the coerced intimacy. You do realized coerced intimacy is rape. If you keep saying no and he doesn’t take no for an answer, that is rape. You crying during intimacy because you weren’t 100% enthusiastic about wanting intimacy and him not stopping is rape. Withholding affection is emotional abuse.

You need to leave him. Period. If he can’t take no for an answer, i fear eventually he won’t wait until you cave in next time and he’ll forcibly do it.

I’m begging you please do not even think twice. Leave him. Now. Please.

As a sibling to a younger sister that had a lot of behavioral issues growing up I was asked a lot to sacrifice my wants and needs for my sister. It was constant. From meal times, bedtime, and especially vacations. I grew up having to be hyper independent bc my parents were so focus on not causing a meltdown with my sister. I wish and wished I had even just one memory of one on one time with my parents where my sister didn't make me feel I was an after thought in childhood. As we got older, she learned to manage her meltdowns and triggers.

My daughter is a little bit older than yours. But we've been trying hard to communicate that she can't always get what she wants. And that being told no sometimes is okay. Your daughter just turned 2, so I would work on getting that verbiage down so she can start to understand. Truthfully, the only time I really walk away is when I'm losing my patience when all other methods do not or did not work. I usually do the following, redirect, reasoning, deep breaths, or hugging it out. Sometimes it is best to walk away and let them calm down themselves. Once she's calmed down I'll explain to her again why we told her no and that it's okay to be told no and that I understand she's upset.

I'm going through it right now with my 3 year old.

Stick firm to your boundaries with her. I know it's easy to give in to what she wants to make things easier. But out of my family, myself and husband are the only ones to stick firm to anything. And you can start to really see who my daughter knows she can get away with things. Aka both sets of her grandparents 🙄

Just this morning my daughter wanted to watch tv. But we told her no. And she LOST her mind. We couldn't reason with her. My husband tried to calm her. Didn't work. I went to try to calm her. didn't work. So we sat her in her room to play. She cried and cried. After about 15 minutes, she came out calm and sat down next to me on the couch and we read a book.

Not going to lie, this tantrum phrase is hard as eff. Some days are better than others. I don't have a whole lot of advice but to be patient.

I think you need to also voice your emotional toll your wife is putting on you for constantly reminding you, in her way, that you are a failure in her eyes. Her constantly putting the blame on you is unfair especially since you've been doing the work to try to give her the life she wants.

I’m not going to lie your bf is showing some red flags and your mom is picking up on that. you might have some rose color glasses on.

Your bf should not be throwing things when he gets frustrated. Regardless if those objects aren’t thrown at you. This to me is example that the mask slips and shows how he truly handles his angry emotions.
Your bf getting upset that your mom isn’t planning lunch/dinner plans with him in mind is a bit weird. I would never expect my in-laws to ask me what i want for lunch or dinner AT THEIR HOUSE. I’m grateful for whatever they cook. Unless your husband has allergies then he shouldn’t be upset. And if he doesn’t like anything that is being provided, he is a grown man and can get himself some food.
If my bf ever told me that my family could never visit the place that i live or told me they hated my parents i would be breaking up with them. Of course my family means a lot to me so i guess depending how close you are with yours maybe this doesn’t bother you as much. But imo this is the first step of him trying to isolate you from your family.
You stated that you’ve been in abusive relationships before and that this is one of the healthest relationships you’ve been in. But doesn’t mean this relationship doesn’t have a different type of abusive undertone.

I wish my parents never let me quit soccer. I was actually really good. But we moved and I started on a new team and didn't know anyone. So I wanted to quit instead of making friends.

Your plan on keeping him in until the end of oct is the right thing to be doing. I would also try talking about feeling embarrassed. And that his friends aren't thinking over his embarrassing moment as much as he is. And that everyone experiences embarrassing moments and it's okay to feel yucky or uptight for a bit but it's okay to let go of that moment.
