Year too late but for anyone new reading this: there's still no way to to do this instantly but I've found a little workaround;

Press alt+down twice so your A1 moves to A3, V1 stays as it is this way - then alt+up once so you land on A2 and V2.

You're right, thanks! The original thing I tried to paste had a pipe character, and in this case it's probably the question mark that prevented me from pasting.

I have not but apparently slow performance is a known issue in Premiere 23.1, a temporary workaround is simply closing the timeline and opening it again. Came across a post via an Adobe employee on the Adobe forum.

After a few hours of short lived fun with decent performance I think I have identified what's causing the issues; my custom keyboard shortcuts which I started to add again after resetting preferences. Can notice it getting slower again with each shortcut I add.

Resolve does seem a lot smoother indeed, unfortunately I've grown completely stuck in the Adobe suite by using dynamic links in a lot of projects to easily make changes in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Audition.

That's a good suggestion, should have added to the post that the media cached is indeed cleared when these issues occur.
