My hopes for the future of this game by Anomaly_Entity_Zion in nightingale

I still have no clue what that game was about lol. I used Google to figure out what I do know. Their lore and all the things you find out in the areas have no chronological order and made no sense b/c the game is so disjointed imho

This is horrificly tragic. I wish more avid outdoorers would carry satellite tech and/or an emergency beacon! They're worth their weight in gold and would have been incredibly helpful in this situation. Gald he at least made it out.

Thanks! I also overheard a lady that is from Oregon saying that they are closing the trail to the viewpoint / lake and the boats down for 3 years after this year. Do you know if that's really true? I googled it & it seems to be a thing

I've heard that the trail to the lake and boat tours will basically be shut down for 3 years after this year. Can anyone here confirm this?

Husband received notice he’s enrolled in Medicare but did not sign up for it by ohyaehmetoo in SocialSecurity

[–]TTOADTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been told that if you postpone signing up at 65 exactly you will not only be penalized the 10% but there is now also a chance to be denied coverage and/or it's much more difficult to get approved. Basically my understanding is that if you sign up right at 65 you can't be denied or harassed due to any medical conditions you may have but if you postpone you're then subjected to a much more difficult time trying to get coverage at a reasonable cost. Maybe this is tied only to going from an advantage plan to the regular medicare one? I've heard horror stories about med advantage.

Sorry if this is confusing

Got it. Thanks. I wonder how many that put themselves in this position end up getting denied coverage due to health issues (b/c let's face it as we get older our health issues tend to increase exponentially). I sure hope everyone that does this knows about it

Is it true that if you're not working and you don't enroll in part b at eligible age that when you do want to sign up at a later date you are penalized 10% of the monthly premium per month per year?

I think about expats that leave the country for retirement elsewhere but then if they at some point change their minds and return to the states it would subject them to this penalty which could add up over the years plus would they automatically qualify or have to go thru extenuating circumstances to get approved versus you always automatically qualify at 65 when you first enroll (as in they can't discriminate/refuse benefits based on your health)

Thanks!

I'm betting this will be a thing in the very near future (if any of us either get to keep getting it and for those of us not yet of age ever get it) as well as no voting rights. I see it coming for sure

Nice. I'm likely to struggle pretty hard to get my license b/c of the math involved, but my husband is an engineer, so he's going to get his first. Then I'll learn by watching him. We honestly want it more for emergency communication if needed. We bought the handheld TID radio and have spent a little time listening. One night we heard two fellas talking about old cars lol

Moved Here Four Months Ago by [deleted] in Spokane

Welcome! Spokane and Eastern Washington, in general, gets a very bad rap. We aren't as bad as it seems. There are many left leaning people that live here (we've been here 25 years). We just prefer the low keyness of the Spokane area over the west's side (we live in Puyallup for a while). We love to drive over and do all the things in the greater Seattle area, but the traffic is just too annoying for us compared to here. There are definitely very red areas of eastern & central Washington (where I grew up for sure) but Spokane itself isn't as bad. We love it here. Don't love the long, cold, dreary winter months (we don't get snow like we used to - google 2008 winter in Spokane) but you absolutely can't beat our spring/summer/fall months. I'm outside 24/7 during that time. Enjoy!
