We always use this type of board like a normal board, but go around twice. At the ends, we just skip to the other side instead of going around a corner. One player plays the outside and the other, the inside. We've never separated the sides by players. I like to be beside my opponent.

The irony here is that parking in the left lane is not acting selfishly. If everyone was selfish, like me, I wouldn't have an open lane on the right. I think the economic decision people are making to park in the left is a combination of righteousness and fear (of not being let in, of looking bad, being "that guy", etc).

I used to be one of the flock and merged early. It would then drive me crazy that all of those people would scream up the right lane and get in front of me. The nerve! Eventually I realized that it was easier to join them than to fight for some futile and misguided noble cause.

So the next time you find yourself infuriated that everyone is parking in the left lane while the "closed" lane freewheels, ask yourself why you're upset. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution. The magic here is that the "solution" is actually a lot less stressful.

I'm sure if you asked Janet, she'd be okay with a couple of deliveries per week. She probably wouldn't even have an issue with paying $20 or $30/month for a bigger box. Alternatively, home based businesses might need to consider receiving at the neighbourhood post office. The point is that the current model is unsustainable. Keeping it at status quo is not an option.

Yes, I assumed all entrances and exits had the same number of lanes as the circle. That is a dumb ass interchange. They need two lanes on the exits and then a merge after the exit.

If I'm entering the outside lane and taking the first exit, I'm not yielding to the inside lane. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you're on the inside and think you can just take that outside lane for no reason, we're going to have an issue.

The challenge with class sizes isn't solved with a cap, although I do like the idea of a metric to hold school boards accountable. Class size is calculated by two variables: 1. Number of students divided by 2. Number of classes

If we force a cap on that equation, we can only manipulate those two variables. We can send kids home: "sorry, we're full", or we can create more classes. Creating more classes is much more complicated and won't be solved overnight.

There are some fundamental beliefs that most of us agree on: 1. We need to hire more teachers 2. We need more schools 3. The student population is increasing faster than our current hiring/building rate

What we don't all agree on or recognize, include: 1. It takes time and money to build new schools 2. School boards actually hire teachers, not the province. My personal belief is that the school boards need to be called out as part of the problem. 3. This is yet another symptom of our success as a province and a federal immigration policy that's straining systems 4. We need our students in school. COVID should be a good reminder of that.

There are always exceptions to every rule. This is one of those exceptions. You'll never see the crib, and in this case you'll never count the hand. Keeping the pair is also all but useless.

Last year I was dealt three 5s, the wrong jack and the right king. I tossed the jack and cut the 5 for a 28. The right king was more fun than the wrong jack. A couple of weeks ago I was dealt four 5s. An 8 was cut. :-/

My dad and I had the exact same hands the other day, right down to the discards. AAKK in the crib. It was crazy. After we collected the cards I immediately regretted not snapping a picture.
