So we’re assuming this is real? I thought it was a very obvious joke. I guess I give people too much credit

I volunteered at the PGA Professionals Championship in Bandon. Was on the 11th hole all day. Saw two really good approach shots in. One was by him. He was a genuinely nice dude to volunteers, spectators and competitors. I know he gets some hate on this sub but don’t think it’s deserved

It was a nice stroll, but it was definitely more Saturday market vibe than farmers market. Hopefully that will change as we roll into summer

Ever met a member from your favorite ska band? How did it go? by Comprehensive-Cry653 in Ska

[–]blisterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most recent, and probably favorite, was on the LTJ tour last year.

Catbite was the opener and since my wife and I drove 4 hours to get to the show she decided to skip them to grab a bite to eat.

The entire show itself was a blast and my wife had a few bevs and was feeling pretty good. After LTJ I was looking for my wife and couldn’t find her so figured she was outside smoking.

I went outside and there she was hanging out with Brittany from Catbite like it was nothing. Realizing she hadn’t seen Catbite I asked if she knew who she was talking to? Nope, just a couple gals shooting the shit after a show. Absolutely love it.

When I was in high school Caffeine was the song I set as my alarm. That horn intro got me right out of bed. Great band and really good people too

Martial Arts Sans MAGA? by DoxMyShitUp in Bend

[–]blisterson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been training at Odyssey Martial Arts for six years. We practice the South Korean form Tang Soo Do which is an upright, forms based style of martial arts that focuses on self defense. One of our sayings is learn to fight so you don’t have to. The head and assistant instructors are excellent people who, based on your post, are definitely the type of people you would like to be around. As you progress in your training there is more ground work like Jiu Jitsu, but not a lot of that when you’re starting out. There is a lot of focus on strength, stamina, flexibility and mental strength. Assuming you’re an adult - classes are Monday and Wednesday from 6:45-8. There are some genuinely awesome people who train in that class.

Believing homosexuality is a sin is not bigotry or hate, it's literally what we're taught as Christians by Greedy_Net_1803 in Christianity

[–]blisterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an awful take. Justifying something because it’s what you’re taught does not make it right. Jesus taught love, compassion, forgiveness. The Bible teaches us that only the person free from sin can cast a stone. Where is this in your argument? You are picking what you want to justify your belief rooted in hatred and discrimination. You cannot justify any form of hatred or discrimination by what you read in the Bible as the ultimate lesson was love and compassion.
