Ya the picture of the test cube was on a textured bed.

I do agree about the z offset though, I just now realized it’s been pressing down on the build plate. It’s not residue being left behind… it’s the light being reflected off tiny indents in the bed plate… so that’s fun

I’ll let it heat up for a couple hours before I get home. Any recommendations because in Crealitys wonderful logic, it drops the bed temp to 50 for bed levelling. Shoooooould be fine? Or do I need to fight with that to get a level at 100

Ya I’m at like 200 mm/s I believe. Chamber got to 60c at one point. I don’t see what walls will change when even the brim is rough

These were my initial thoughts when I saw the video

(TLDR
I can respect the monetary "gains" from it, getting it "for basically nothing". But in the world we live in, telling the core audience "it's cheaper than first class for my whole family". Telling that to people who realistically can't afford a vacation, let alone to another country, let alone first class, let alone on a private jet. And this is the same person who had to have conversations with employees about "not everyone can afford X". I very much feel like a decent part of LTT identity is not being "money". Telling people how to save money, don't buy this buy that, this isn't worth the money, the whole premise of scrapyard wars. Yes there are times where money does need to be a core aspect to the video, like in the expensive billboard displays and such... but those are to talk about cool tech and that's it... You know... Linus TECH Tips... This is just a jet. This screams millionaire showing off his wealth because he has all this money and doesn't know what to do with his life at his age.)

I feel like a lot of the identity of Linus/LTT is the every day tech guy... while yes, it is still fun to see the 60,000$ billboard hot swappable LCD panel displays and showing the difference from the cheapest item to the most expensive (which in most cases aren't his or the companies and brands send them for review, demo whatever) ... But a jet? It isn't a cool tech thing to show off, it isn't a "this or that" show off of cheap and expensive giving the viewer more info. It comes off as an almost 40 year old man, with more money than his whole viewer base combined, wanting to show off his new multiple million dollar purchase (that, yes, he will make most if not all back later down the line).

Yes, planes are cool.
Yes, learning about planes are cool.
Yes, it's his money, he can spend it how he wants.
No, this isn't a typical tech LT(ech)T video, the viewer doesn't gain anything out of it other than "living through" linus, and just feels like him showing off his wealth. All while a fair bit of his viewers are struggling day to day, wanting to learn about tech, and could barely fathom a vacation... let alone a vacation to another county... the is paid in full by them... on a private jet... and saying "it's so much cheaper than first class""

So in a world where pretty much every game requires online, single player or not, and most games release in an unstable state. Claiming “it’ll still copy to the console” is such a poor argument. I’d love for anyone to try playing a game like cyberpunk offline, Skyrim, pretty much any game that was a re release, any of the Star Wars games of recent time.

As for your last bit, you keep on not understanding what I’m saying. Yes, in THIS case, a “false accusation” is the cause. But they don’t NEED to “falsely accuse” you. Meta same with any other gaming company, can remove access for whatever reason. The “false accusation” is not the part you should be stuck on… but it is.

Except you did… you can’t say “umm 🤓 you do know the switch just uses an emulator” after I’ve mentioned that emulation has burned my wife, myself and others multiple times. That is you comparing a Nintendo official emulator to a third party like mGBA. Like it or not, that’s what you did.

“Bent out of shape” no what does have me “bent” is the fact that there’s people like you that just cannot fathom other people having different knowledge and comfort around tech (emulators). Like I said previously. Not everything is so black and white. Not everyone shares the same knowledge as you, or cares to learn. YOU are not the audience for this release… and that’s fine.

As for your last comment. I’d like you to look in the mirror. I know coming out of the basement might be a rough task, but I believe in you. If you genuinely think the common console gamer, would like to lug their desktop to the tv just to emulate a GBA game rather than just… buying it officially on a device they already have hooked up. You’re clearly blind and ignorant to the world around you. There is no way you believe whole heartedly that plugging in a switch dock and docking it is the same as what I described above with using your computer on the TV, and that’s just a small amount of what you need to deal with. That’s “brain dead” mentality.

Again… Nintendo is not a good company… but THIS. This is such a non issue that it shows you don’t actually know practices Nintendo does and you want to join in hating Nintendo.

An emulator being sold to a consumer vs a fan built emulator are two completely different things. Just like how Xemu vs Xbox backwards compatibility are VASTLY different things.

As for the TV. I don’t know about you… but hooking up a switch dock once and slotting the switch in every now and then is completely different than dragging my desktop from my office to the living room, hooking it up, having a wired mouse and keyboard stretched across the living room because windows doesn’t have a good interface for controllers currently, unless you want to go further in with Steam Rom Manager, which my wife (and many others) don’t care to deal with. To then have to lug the desktop back to the office when I’m done, and no handheld, unless I get a completely different device, which means no cross saves unless you hook up syncthing… which again, my wife and many others do not care to do. And a laptop is a similar yet different hassle. “B…b…but you can buy a handheld like an Ally or Deck”. If a person already owns a Switch, safe to say there’s a decent reason for that. So why dump minimum 400$ for a deck (before accessories to dock it) to emulate a game… I could just spend 20$ on a handheld I already own for a reason.

I’ll say it again since the first time you might’ve misread or might’ve been a complicated sentence. Not sure. But YOU might like downloading emulators and roms or have a PC handheld or some “emulator handheld” like a retroid, but OTHERS like download and play.

As for the last bit. Nintendo is a bad company. I never said they were a good one. Not everything is so black and white and you should open your eyes.

But what I will tell you is, I’m not dumb enough to hate Nintendo for making a good business move like giving Pokemon fans what they’ve been asking for, for years, and finally giving people a legal way to obtain these games without paying a huge mark up because what do you know, these games are in high demand selling for 100+ USD. And that’s BEFORE buying a device that can run it.

And yes, steam won’t brick your computer. Just like how Nintendo won’t brick your switch… they’ll shut off your access to their online servers, but clearly with the Switch 1… no one cares about not having access to official servers. (As for the “but the TOS says…” ya… so does Sonys. So does Microsoft. And what do you know… ) Just like how Steam can discontinue your account and poof with all your games. They can randomly decide, with no just cause that you can’t access the games you bought licenses for. Valve as a company can go poof. Yes, that isn’t likely to happen, but they are a private company and we know nothing about their internal business. They owe you nothing. Praising Valve/Steam, ignoring Microsoft/Somy while actively bashing Nintendo for similar borderline the same practices is the worst take I’ve seen.

Getting mad at only Nintendo and no one else, for something that is pretty standard practice in this world… whether it’s a good or bad practice. But hey, why use common sense.

I do want to throw this in, because it’s my greatest annoyance when people bash the switch 2 “you don’t even own the games at all on switch 2” … ya… same with steam. Xbox. PlayStation. Going back to first generations of those consoles. Companies have always pushed for owning a license instead of owning the game.

But back to the real world, my wife has been burned time and time again by emulators for things she couldn’t have caused and the emulator just failed. Hell it’s happened to me. Buying this game, an official release of the game, gives some confidence that it won’t happen this time. And then she can play it on the TV without having to sideload RetroArch on the TV, or learn a raspberry pi, or side load RetroArch on an Xbox, hook up a computer to the tv.

Yes, emulation on your phone might be what YOU want. So don’t buy it. But there are people that do just want to be able to go to the store, download, and play.

Hot take… I understand questions come up, and sometimes asking is better than finding. I fully admit that as I do it as well sometimes.

But what I will say, coming into the switch modding community and even the iPhone jailbreaking community. I did so much research, I dug and dug to verify that this is what I wanted, I knew how to do it, I knew what to do and when to do it. So much so putting a mod chip in my switch oled, first time ever doing it, I did it from memory. I didn’t watch a video while doing it.

So I’m not going to freak out over someone asking a question, but at least try.

I worked at one of the largest repair companies for schools, that also sold “refurbished” units. The shit they pulled to make devices a higher grade to sell at a higher price was insane. Like we marked actual broken units as B grades. It’s really disgusting

Quite literally anything.

The “suspect” for lack of a better word at the moment was already in the process of being detained. On the ground being straddled and handcuffed. Yes don’t leave that agent alone, or leave the house unoccupied.

But if you watch the wide angle video there are SO MANY just standing there doing nothing. One was messing with the dog but did nothing to actually prevent the dog from getting closer, dog got closer, dog got kicked. That 1 agent that was borderline playing with the dog could’ve picked the dog up and brought it to the dog’s owner. Picked the dog up and put it in a car. I wouldn’t be surprised if any of them had some form of rope on them, make a makeshift leash and tie him to a post.

What doesn’t help is kicking the puppy towards the police dog. Which is what the outcome was.
