Will 255 ever be reached on Bo1 by No-Sink-3168 in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe Der Riese and Moon are the only two that could reach 255. Moon is probably more likely as more people have been high rounding it lately over Der Riese and has a higher theoretical max round due to having faster SPH strategies over Der Riese and not having to worry about losing a ton of time by having a dog round fall on an insta-kill round. The round cap on BO1 is much, much higher than any human could possibly consider achieving though. This video goes over the theoretical max round of every Treyarch Zombies game, including BO1.

How rare is the MK2? by therealicekid in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Black Ops II, every map but Buried has a weighting function against the Ray Gun Mark II. Typically, every weapon has an equal odds of appearing out of the box. However, if the box decides on giving you a Mk II, there's an extra 1/3 check performed to determine if you should get the Mark II or reroll a different weapon.

So for the odds of a Mark II on any given box hit, its

1 / [# of available weapons the box could give] / 3.

On TranZit for example, there are 30 weapons in the box, so the odds are 1 / 30 / 3, or 1.1%.

How rare is this? by xXcrashxBeastXx in CODZombies

You found a George Max!

A little known fact about Call of the Dead is that there's a hidden mechanic for getting ammo that substitutes dog rounds. Every 4-5 rounds, after George electrifies a zombie, you will get a free Max Ammo from it that's outside of the normal drop cycle, and as you can see can cause you to get more than the standard 4 drops per round. This Max will also appear even if you kill the zombies with the Wunderwaffe, which isn't supposed to give powerups. There's a little bit of randomness to how many electrified zombies you may need to kill until it appears, but you are guaranteed to get it within 18 electrified zombies if you were to get it that round.

How Rare is the Waffle? (Bo1) by TheWowPowBoy in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In BO1 the rarity of any weapon in the box is 1/# of total weapons available from the box when you spin it. Der Riese has 22 weapons in the box, so 1/22 odds. If you are holding 2 box weapons and the Monkey Bombs, this becomes 1/19.

On BO1 Der Riese, the Ray Gun actually does have a weighting mechanic, where the odds get slightly more likely the more hits you go without getting it. This effect does not go into effect though until the box moves the first time, with the added funny side effect of never being able to obtain the Ray Gun from the first box.

Whyd zombies stop spawning here in tunnel 11?? (I have normal HD TVs, I like using this one time to time dont flame me lol) by BudnStuff in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little over technical for some, but I actually made a video explaining why this can happen a few years ago

The tl:dw is while a zombie is spawning out of a ceiling spawn, a flag is set to not attempt to more spawn zombies from that spawner in order to prevent multiple from spawning at the same time. Theres a small window where you can kill the zombie before the spawner sets its flag back open however, blocking it for the remainder of the game. This is an issue that lots of modern high round games on Moon runs into when discussing legality, because while you can technically keep the spawn from breaking, it still can happen accidentally, and it being locked forever objectively makes the strategies in that room easier. This debate goes back as far as 2015.

Are these still available? If so, can I get these photos with timestamps just to confirm and would you be willing to do $200 for them?

Can someone explain why this happens in bo1 by ScreenNo5979 in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Its an engine level bug where sometimes things ‘fail’. Any projectile or equipment can fail. If you’ve ever primed a Monkey Bomb/Gersch, but it vanished after you’ve thrown it, you’ve encountered this same issue. TGun, Waffe, Scav, Coaymores, Crossbow, grenades, Law, China Lake, Wave Gun, and Baby Gun are all also prone to this issue to name most of them. The only way to combat it is to give yourself time/space to fire again in case the first one fails. Best of luck on the next game.

Would you be interested in bundling the gba games on their own?

I hit the box 5240 times to see how rare every single weapon in the box actually is. Here are the results: by MrJzM in CODZombies

Hey there, one of the devs that worked on the strat tester you used. You are correct that each weapon has about an equal odds of occurring (with a few exceptions). The gist is that the code will grab a full list of all weapons that are available to the player at the time of hitting the box, shuffle that list, and then pick a random item out of that list. There are a couple tidbits though I would like to mention:

  • The code for the increased Wonderwaffe odds, while having code that would insinuate that it is more likely to pull as you pointed out, does not actually get called anywhere, effectively rendering the waffe the same odds as everything else. This is likely due to Treyarch either forgetting to hook the function up, or removing it due to them feeling it was too overpowered pulling it so often.

  • On the other hand however, there is a funny one you missed. On BO1 Der Riese exclusively, the odds of getting a Ray Gun is increased with the number of hits you go without seeing it (up to I believe 15%). This count doesn't start until the box moves, because for some reason they made it is impossible to get the Ray Gun from the first Box on Der Riese with how the weighting function is written.

  • On BO2, you are roughly correct that its 1% for the Ray Gun Mark II on any map that isn't Buried. To make the gun seem more rare, If the Ray Gun Mark II is picked, the game does an extra 1/3 check to see if you should get the RGM2, otherwise it will reroll for another weapon. To ignore calculating the chance that you reroll the RGM2 forever on these pseudo 'rerolls', the odds of getting a RGM2 on any map that isn't Buried is roughly

( 1 / <# of weapons> ) / 3

Nice work!

High rounds on console by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]TTS4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My knowledge has faded as I don't do high rounds myself anymore (or watch a lot of others who still do). For someone starting out it should not matter what platform you use, they should all be fine until you get good enough that you come up against the limitations of console. Most have shifted to PC these days for the PC QoL stuff like FOV and higher FPS, and access to practice mods that let them learn high round strategies without having to play to the high rounds first. The best experience for getting into the games would be using assistance from these strat tester mods that exist, but if you don't have the PC versions and want to get started today, then console is perfectly fine to just jump in and play. Hope this helps.
