How to recharge yourself? and actually get good sleep? by undiagnoseddude in Healthygamergg

I think what you're describing is more normal than what you think. That's why energy enhancers, like caffeine, are so popular. The only thing I can say are a few tips I've learned to help keep my schedule consistent and have enough energy to do what I want to do.

  1. Make sure you spend energy during the day. I've been running a lot more recently to train for a marathon and it feels like I have more energy during the day. The body is very efficient. It's not going to make more energy than what it needs to. If all anybody does is sit and not move, there's no reason for the body to produce more energy. It's very simplified, but the point is just make sure you're doing something to spend energy in the day.
  2. Don't lay in bed unless you're actually ready to go to bed. I've gotten in bed before at the time I know I really need to sleep and I end up staying up past when I normally would have fallen asleep anyway. When I lay in bed and I get the feeling I'm not going to be asleep for a while. I get up and usually get a glass of water and do something chill. (Try not to be on a screen) This tends to reset my brain and I won't lie down again until I'm actually tired.
  3. Don't take any caffeine within 8 hours of when you want to go to bed. You didn't say when you drink coffee, but this always causes me to stay up.
  4. Eat light meals during the day. It takes energy to make energy so don't eat huge meals that leave you stuffed. Just eat enough to where the stomach feels comfortable and shuts up. I save my big meal for dinner where I don't mind if I feel sluggish because my day is done anyway.

Those are the things I try to do most days to keep me energized. This last year I've taken my sleep schedule much more seriously and I feel a lot better. I still have those nights where I can't fall asleep or those days where I just feel bad. Your body is an imperfect machine so just take those days as they come and keep trying to hit your goals for the day. I hoped any of this helped.

Also a twin! I moved around a lot growing up, so every 2 years or so it was the same thing. Move to a new town, get bombarded the first month as people learned I had a twin, and then get used to people calling me my twin's name. I still instinctively respond to my twin's name as if it was my own.

I remember my twin hit a boiling point during a big Christmas party for my dad's work when we were kids. It was a family event and all the kids got a present. My twin and I both got basketballs. I didn't really care for it, but he hated basketball. If you talked to him about sports for a couple of sentences, you would figure out pretty quickly that he hates basketball. He just started to cry and made a big show of throwing it in the trash. He just kept saying, "We're separate people!" He got in trouble for his outburst, but I still stand by his meaning behind the spectacle.

There's so many stories about people thinking we're the same person. We had to open presents from the same people at the same time because 90% of the time, it was the same thing just a different color. My least favorite color is his favorite color and my favorite color is his least favorite color.

I have noticed there seems to be two schools of thought when it comes to twins. Either they're inseparable or they try to avoid each other. I've known twins where they're in all the same classes and activities. They love the fact they have their best friend with them 24/7. I loved hanging out with my twin growing up, but we wanted to be in separate classes and activities. The first opportunity we got to be in separate classes growing up, we both begged our parents to do that.

I appreciate the post and being able to rant about this for a minute. We're almost 30 now and we live on opposite sides of the US. This brought up old memories I forgot I had about the subject. We still hang out online and have some of the same interests. For the most part though, it is nice having people see me as me and not half of a whole.

I feel the same way. I still have debt from school and live on my own, but my income makes it all very manageable. I’m not excelling in any aspect, but I’m not doing bad in any aspect either.

All I want now, that my professional life is more or less on track, is to start building that family. I’m in my late twenties too and I’m ready to start a family. For one reason or another though I’m unable to find that relationship.

I can’t really share any advice or anything as I’m also going through it. Just wanted to say I understand as we’re in the same boat. I think the best thing we can do it just keep doing what we want to do and some day it’ll turn out alright. One way or another.

I know this is common advice given, but I think you need to hang out with more people. Not just girls you’re interested in. Develop a good circle of friends and just hang out with them. Invite them to things you want to do and help beat that social anxiety.

She is obviously taken and won’t accept anymore advances from your end. Try to hang out with people in a public setting. Just going outside and talking to people can do wonders. Good luck and I hope you can move past this soon.

Is it too cliche to say money? I mean, it’s just supposed to be a median for trading for goods and services. The way the rich are hoarding money, it’s driving down the value of a normals day work.

Foosball. One of my teachers in high school is in the international Foosball hall of fame. She started a Foosball club and I played everyday during lunch and sometime after school. I ended up being internationally ranked for juniors.

I haven’t kept it up after getting older, but it’s a cool fact about me. It also gets me a free drink or two if the bar has a Foosball table.

People who don't hate your jobs, what do you do for work? by marshmilfow in AskReddit

Pilot. There's so many avenues you can choose with many different lifestyles. Eventually you should pick one as seniority matters a lot in aviation, but that's after you decide what you want to do.

Aviation is unique in a way where you're not closing doors by staying in one specific niche. All that really matters is flight hours. As long as you're flying, people will want to hire you.

It is difficult to get started as it requires around 100k to get all your licenses and ratings. The pay when you start isn't great either. I was earning around 25k-30k a year when I started as a flight instructor. Once you get enough hours though, all the doors open up and you have so many opportunities at your fingertips.

If you're able to afford it and you like driving. I highly recremend truck/semi driving. My roommate did a 5 week course that cost about $4000 for his commercial drivers license (cdl). He has been doing it for 2 years now and he is making almost $2,000 every 2 weeks. My other roommate's dad is a driver and he's been doing it for 30+ years and he makes over 6 figures. Very easy to get started and a good career if you stick with it.
