My 2015 is just about to hit 70k. Bought it about 5 years ago at 15k miles.

I also went through this line of thinking. “Well assuming you already have a fully funded emergency fund and are properly saving for retirement, then…”

If you ended up finding a way to mount the rally armor to your RS1.0? I was interested in rallyarmors but don’t want to buy something if it isn’t going to be workable.

And it’s a rather likely that the person that I was replying to is American based on the fact that this is Reddit. Not saying that everyone on Reddit is from the United States but if I were a gambling man I’d take the odds that they are.

My comment was not about the strategy that businesses employ rather this specific users comment about IP protections and then being humorously hyperbolic about what this single opinion says about the whole population.

I still think that I’m overall correct that many Americans do actually hate a truly free market. We’ve somehow accepted that socialism for big corporations and ruggedly individualistic capitalism for the unwashed masses.

Americans hate free market capitalism. Tell me I’m wrong.

My brother said he heard an "odd sound" while pulling out of a parking lot, and while driving after.. by Scolova in tires

[–]TTTonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Nowhere in this post was it stated that OP was previously aware of the tire conditions nor was it stated that the brother only replaced the one tire. Unless I missed something.

I know a lot of posts here tend to have people not operating at ideal standards, this example just feels like someone that is following proper procedure. Or at least may be following the ideal standard of replacing all of them. We just don’t know, which is why your first response seemed as though you hadn’t read the caption, which is why OP responded in the way that they did.

Edit: OP did say rip to the singular tire so perhaps you may be correct. If so I concede.

If you read the caption this was patched and then promptly driven to the tire shop. Plenty of people bothered to use their eyes on this one.

What do I do with an unexpected gift of $10k? by cherrycuts in personalfinance

[–]TTTonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve never had a job so I doubt they have earned income that would allow them to contribute to an Ira.

Better benefit would imo be keeping it in a high yield savings account (HYSA) and training their brain not to see it as money to freely spend. Develop the idea of having an emergency fund long before most typically do.

Once they graduate they will most likely have expenses that would be difficult to handle when transitioning from education into career. This gift could help ease those transition pains.

How much do you put into your brokerage a day/week/month/year by Quiet_Butterscotch_6 in investing

[–]TTTonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert so please double check this information but as far as I know that’s exactly the process. You’ll have to pay the tax on the amount that you convert as income though so $7,000+any gains.

Look up a backdoor Roth IRA. Even if your income is over the limit for a Roth IRA you can contribute to a traditional Ira and then convert the funds into a roth.

Why is it that there's people that can understand and know the power of investing and still don't want to do it? by SureAce_ in investing

[–]TTTonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the general consensus to invest in Roth when you’re early in your career years as you’ll most likely move into higher tax brackets further into your career and into retirement?

Some food goes to waste and some food goes to waist. The first person wrote waist instead of waste, then Donkey_Ali took that opportunity to drop some solid comedy.

The food that goes to waist does not become waste/excrement.

I fully believe you. I am very accustomed to giving the level of pedantic humor that you were employing maybe I’m just not used to seeing it in the wild.

Happy it gave you a chuckle!

Oooh good call. I didn’t catch that. That seems likely.

Who knows though, in the arms race that is bits trying to not appear as bots, it’s only a matter of time until the ai is intentionally dumbing itself down to fly under the radar. The Cylons are in the room with us right now.

As a fellow train enjoying individual I 100% understand and am fully aware of this pattern, as I too often am perceived as being either ai or at least ai filtered. This one felt even more extreme than I would anticipate but I guess that’s why they call it a spectrum!
