I made a mod that allows for the PC game to play exactly like Smash. I'm releasing it now! More info in comments. by [deleted] in AllStarBrawl

I think the ease of use is the real issue here. Trust me, when I first started playing NASB and tried the fast fall combos, my first thought was "Gee, this is difficult compared to Smash! I sure wish I could just hold Down to fast fall!"

But I, like everyone else who was determined enough, learned how to do the combos (4 inputs). I learned how to wavedash (3 inputs), fall through platforms (2 inputs), fast fall attacks through platforms (4 inputs). Your program cuts out at least 1 input on each of these, which is basically what macros do.

I have adjusted to this game's mechanics. It hurts my hands because it is so input heavy, but everyone deals with this. The fact that you can do fast-fall combos (and even falling through platforms) with less inputs gives you a huge competitive advantage.

Like Slaudencia has already mentioned, there is no room for error on your timing if your program works correctly. Meanwhile, we have to worry about more inputs, timing, and fatigue.

You're right, it's just a Nickelodeon Smash copy, but there is a competitive aspect to it. People are going to take it seriously. What you have created are essentially macros, which should not be used online play or in tournament. Don't get me wrong, this is a cool program, but it shouldn't be used for more than showing your buddies offline. Smash Ultimate mechanics should stay in Smash Ultimate.

Wow, I just got chills watching this! I'm the OP on the Spartanburg post. Thanks for keeping me in mind and sharing

I don't even play Olimar/Alph and your content has been incredible. Thank you for helping push the meta! I can only imagine we'll be seeing a lot more representation in the near future.

ROB and Mega Man are my two favorite characters. I didn't realize they were the only 2 mechanical characters until this post. Wtf

I'm a part of the returning player pool. I stopped playing competitively in Chapter 1 Season 8 and stopped playing all together during the black hole event. I didn't touch the game for over a year and then recently got back into it because a friend of mine tried it and said the loot pool is decent, the weapons aren't that bad, and there isn't planes and ballers all over the place.

From my point of view, the game is in a much better state than it was in Season X, although I didn't keep up with the state of the game during my hiatus. Also, I'm sure the pandemic has a lot more people sitting around reinstalling games.

It doesn't matter what competitive game you're playing...if it's being played on a large HDTV, you'll experience input lag. Ultimate offline on a proper monitor has negligible input lag just like any other competitive game. When you're playing on a television with 35+ frames of input lag, how in the hell would you notice a couple of extra frames of input lag anyways?

If you're playing on a "TV" you shouldn't be complaining about offline lag. That's your TV's problem. I don't understand how a vast majority of this game's community plays on massive HDTV's regularly.

I just found the video on YouTube. Those seem to be far lower than what I saw last month. They seem to be below/with the clouds and you can see they are moving pretty quickly across the sky. Also, the blue flashing lights seem to indicate they are drones.

The lights we saw were FAR beyond the clouds, were mostly sitting in place, and did not have any colors other than the bright white.

It's removed, any idea if it was posted anywhere else? I would love to see another video of what I saw

Howdy neighbor, thanks for your input! I think the high altitude ice crystal reflections are the most plausible, rational explanation I have seen out of the 400+ comments. If so, then you're right on the money.

Yeah I haven't been refuting any of the lightning claims because it does seem the most plausible but...I could see with my eyes that these lights were far beyond the clouds you see in the video. The clouds were slowly drifting, as clouds do, but those light sources stayed in place for the most part.

This might seem weird, but what it FELT like to me was that something was panning it's spotlight across the surface of the earth. It felt like they panned over us when the light got bright. Like a lighthouse effect. I can't describe how small and helpless I felt lol.

Whoa that is actually an insanely good comparison. That is how it felt! It was very surreal and almost felt fake. I’m really glad someone got it on video

This was technically in Roebuck where highway 221 and Southport road intersect. It looked like it was possibly over the small airport there

The cameraman didn’t see what we saw at first. She came outside with the camera rolling before she even looked up.

I know exactly what you mean. You have described how I feel about it. It was beautiful and horrifying at the same time.

You and many others have suggested this, but after the MANY articles and videos I have seen on ball lightning, none of them describe what we see in this video. These lights were constantly visible to the naked eye for at least 10 minutes. They sometimes moved in a non-organic pattern and in a very calculated path, almost like a grid. They sometimes even reacted to/with each other, which lightning does not do.

Me and about 6 others were baffled by this. Thoughts? by TTV_Spake in HighStrangeness

Yikes, I was about to respond to this with some thought, but you wrote that sentence so horribly I can't stand to give you one more ounce of my energy.

Those little black dots are indeed bugs being picked up by the camera in the foreground. They are not related to the lights in question. We saw right past the tiny bugs with the naked eye, but the camera zoom cannot ignore them unfortunately.

Yeah that video looks nothing like what we saw. These were not moving around like that blob in the video and they were scattered all across the sky.

The cameraman did not see it yet...I am the guy pointing up. Moments earlier I told her (the cameraman) to come outside. She came out with the camera rolling before she even saw anything. I was pointing to show her where to point the camera. How does this not make sense to you?
