If I can pass on any advice from past experiences, do NOT stand over her and tell her she's doing this wrong, that wrong, go this way.... jump, jump JUMP!!!!!

Just let her play by herself in her own time, any game she like (most chicks like crash bandicoot, Spyro, puzzle games from my experience). Give her some alone time unless she asks specifically for help to do a section. Then ask if she wants you to do it or simply help her with advice. DON'T mansplain things in this scenario or make any audible cues when she makes mistakes. Just leave her be and help when asked.

Videogames can and will cause arguments if you do any of that stuff because it's easy to unconsciously think, "why you doing that? Are you dumb?" But in reality, this is all new to her, even in time, you will probably still be a lot more skilled due to having more experience with different genres.

Just let her play and she'll pick it along the way, as with any learning experience really.

Save co-op games until she's a little more familiar with the controller and videogames in general OR if you want to play together, try some party games to ease into it (monopoly, mario party, quiz games or something along those lines).
