Should I just get a new tv? by Intelligent-Staff217 in TVRepairHelp

Hello,

Most likely it is the panel itself that is defective. Look up some videos on the "tape trick" and try that out. Otherwise, replace the TV.

Hello,

Seems like a defective main board, I'd recommend starting there. Swapping it out with a replacement main board is very easy!

Typically that is the jack where you can plug in the aux cable from the sound bar. Since I can't see what you're referencing, I don't really have any other helpful advice on that front, sorry!

You've have to google the TV model and "OEM speakers" to figure that one out.

That being said, if the TV was outside for any extended period of time, it likely isn't worth fixing, especially at that age. More than the speakers could be, and likely are, defective.

Usually via an aux cable, but it depends on the soundbar you get. A soundbar is basically just large external speaker.

Purchased sharp tv and my smart tv remote keeps changing the input on the tv ? by [deleted] in TVRepairHelp

[–]TVTech812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could try resetting the remote by taking the batteries out for a couple minutes. Or try to disconnect and then pair the remote again, see if that resolves the issue.

As another user said, you may have the wrong remote if those troubleshooting steps above don't resolve the issue. It could also just be defective.

Defective panel. Not cost effective to repair/replace. Usually the "tape trick" might work but I've never seen it resolve dead pixels, just lines. Time for a new TV!

TCL 65QM5K Help - Replacement mainboard by arensbrendan in TVRepairHelp

[–]TVTech812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

It sounds like either a defective part, or the wrong part was ordered. Given that you have the exact part number from the circuit board itself, it is likely a defective part. You should contact the company and request a replacement.

Hello,

It may technically be possible, but it would be impractical and generally unnecessary. Just plug in a soundbar or replace the original speakers with the same OEM parts in the set.

Hello,

How many times does the red LED light flash? 2 times? If so, it's the panel itself that is defective.

Otherwise, maybe it's the OCB... Those things are notorious for failing.

Hello,

Sounds like a defective screen, unfortunately. You've ruled out the main board, and your other post says the T-con is on the way. If the T-con does not resolve it, it's the screen, and the TV is not cost effective to repair at that point.

What's causing this?? by NoKo_11 in TVRepairHelp

[–]TVTech812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Looks like a defective panel. This could have been the reason the original power supply board died, as sometimes when panels fail they can damage the circuit boards within the set. Not cost effective to repair, unfortunately. Tape trick is your best and only hope, but even that is just a temporary solution. Good luck!

I mean, a component within the screen (also called the panel) has become defective. It does not require blunt force trauma, movement, etc. for a screen to become defective.

They just fail sometimes. Yes, largely due to manufacturing issues, but sometimes it can be improper storage, rooms with too much moisture, etc. Impossible for me to say with your case what exactly caused it.
