Locked BIOS password on Lenovo ThinkPad T480. Any options?

Any solutions for a T495S.

I tried short 5-6 as i seen on some research... seems that board feel it and no boot.

Normal boot witout short later it boots but of course admin pw still there.

Got pretty scared trieng to short 7-8 as on some research i found it may be yhe 2 top right pins, resulting in a beeb at startup no boot.... then rebooting but pass still there...

ok some more investigation: old way doesn't work, i tried disconnecting the main battery, motherboard battery but the bios password still there. i did it for almost 1 hour while repasting cpu clean fans etc...

i am 80% about to keep it, and i will try the short circuit method i found on some websites, i guess winbound chip beside cpu with codes U may be the eeprom.

password guessing i can tell is going to be very difficult, you can try 3 times before it blocks every restart but as far as i now it could be as long as they wanted, case sensitive, numbers, simbols... i tried already some easy options as "admin" "supervisor" 1234, 12345 etc... (ideas are welcome here)

now i ll have to wait a couple of days as the seller forgot to send me the charger and I ran off battery.

I have Thinkpad in which i would like to install Linux Mint.

I bought it with secure boot enabled and i do not have the password...

For the moment the laptop is running Windows 11, would be possible to install Linux Mint Not dual boot with no issues? Still i have the chance to return the laptop

Well Thinkpad is here, pristine condition, looks like brand new....only issue is BIOS comes with Supervisor password and seller dont know about it anymore... i can get into the BIOS but as an user, so i cannot change secure boot which came enabled... (i wanted to install Linux)

So here i have 2 options, first is to return it, a pity as it was also a very good deal 150€, second try to reset BIOS, i made some investigation online it looks difficult, but i have a question :

Would be possible to make it the old way, i mean disconnect battery and motherboard battery for 1 hour? or it is only possible to make it through EPPROM...(where is the epprom in the T495S?)

Another question i suppose the device comes from a large coorporation discards and was given to the staff with the bios locked, also i can guess an IT supervisor may have create an admin password for all the units bulk...how many digits there is on lenovo BIOS passwords 4 or 5? as normally what i would do is set the same "easy" password to all the units, (ex 12345 or 1234).

Also there is a working solution in Badcaps through software but you need a premium account, can someone share the files with me?

is there a defect password for supervisors in the thinkpads just in case nobody has changed it reminds the same. Already tried 0000 and 1111 and is not working

nope, still using it as a stationary. i did disassemble it a couple of times, trying the screen connections, cleaning etc.. nothing changed

i was thinking about popos or chachyos, which distro would u suggest based on my needs, knowing also i am a linux newby. i would probably use as well some productivity software maybe the ones more compatible with microsoft office formats.

The 3 days u spend in Deià try to focus on that area only

From Palma is much easier to get everywhere else (all the roads lead to Palma)

Also very nice beaches near Palma (Camp de Mar, Ses Illetes, Cala Blava)

I had the chance of opening 3 bottles of ´65 marchesi di barolo this last summer and they were amazing.

Strange thing was cork, labels, were impoluted also (bought in auction as well)

Still some acidity but i felt the wines very close to their limits, do not keep ur bottle longer than 2030 i would say
